"Please save me, Hukum." Dhara's voice broke as she clung to him tightly, her body trembling, her tears soaking into his skin.

But just like before... he didn't hug her back.

Samar sat still-frozen. Not a single movement, not a single muscle twitched to comfort her. It was the same thing again. He had kissed her moments ago with passion, no hesitation-but when it came to an embrace, to something as simple as holding her in return-nothing.

And this time, it stung more than ever.

Dhara didn't move for a long time. She kept her arms locked around his waist, hoping-begging in her heart-that maybe this time he would hold her too. That maybe he'd pull her closer and let her know he was there.

But it didn't happen.

Her tears kept falling, hitting his chest like quiet drops of rain. Her grip began to loosen, her sobs turned into silent cries. He didn't move. He didn't say anything. He didn't even blink. It was like he wasn't even there.

Why?

That one question kept circling in her head.

Why wouldn't he hug her?

Was it because he didn't feel anything for her? Or was he choosing not to show it? Did he care? Or was she just forcing herself onto someone who never asked for any of this?

She slowly let go of his waist, her hands falling to her sides. Her face lifted to look at him. Her eyes searched his face-hoping for something. A flicker of emotion. A sign of conflict. Maybe even a small trace of regret. But there was nothing. Just silence. Just that same blank stare.

He wasn't angry. He wasn't soft either. He was simply... detached.

The most painful part wasn't that he didn't say anything. It was the way he looked like nothing had happened. Like her hug didn't matter. Like *she* didn't matter.

Dhara sat back slowly, wiping her face with the back of her hand. The heaviness in her chest was unbearable now. She had trusted him with her feelings, her pain, her whole heart-but all he gave back was silence.

The room was quiet again, except for the sound of her breathing trying to calm itself down.

And for the first time, Dhara realized-he wasn't going to catch her when she fell.

Not because he wanted her to fall...
But because maybe he just didn't know how to catch anyone.

"Hukum, I don't want to lose you. I lo-" Dhara tried, but her voice gave up on her. Her throat tightened, her words stuck midway. Her heart was heavy, her chest aching, but all she could do was cry. She couldn't say it-I love you. It just wouldn't come out.

Defeated, she rested her head on Samar's chest again. Her tears kept falling, her grip around his waist getting tighter. It was her only way of holding on-when everything else felt like it was slipping away.

Samar felt everything. He felt the tears soaking through his shirt. He felt her trembling body clinging to him. He felt how broken she was in that moment.

But he still couldn't move.

That kiss on his forehead was still stuck in his mind. He hadn't processed it yet. Her touch had burned through his carefully built walls, and now she was holding him again-despite knowing how he reacted to hugs. Despite knowing he didn't like being touched, didn't like hugs.

She still kept doing it.

And worst of all? He didn't stop her.

His mind screamed silently-Why do you always manage to surprise me like this? Why do I never stop you? Why am I letting you do all this... and why the hell does it feel like I'm the one losing control now?
