"Who is Nisar?" Samar's voice was cold. So cold, it could've frozen the air between them.
Dhara froze. Every inch of her body trembled, her breath caught in her throat. Fear coursed through her like ice in her veins. Her wide, terrified eyes locked onto his, but her mind was blank-completely paralyzed by dread. She knew... death was near.
Samar didn't raise his voice. He didn't have to.
He placed the wine bottle slowly on the nearby table, his movements calm... too calm. Then he began walking toward her-like a predator closing in on his prey.
Dhara instinctively stepped back.
"Nisar Agrawal. That's his name, isn't it?" he asked, his tone sharp enough to cut skin.
She couldn't respond. She couldn't even think. Her gaze dropped to his feet as if looking him in the eye might summon something even worse. The silence between them stretched and thickened like a noose around her neck.
"How did he dare to touch you?" His voice darkened. "Didn't I make it clear? No one is allowed to touch you but me. No one."
His hand snapped forward, gripping her face tightly, forcing her to look at him.
Dhara's eyes flooded with tears as she cried silently, helplessly. Her lips trembled, but no words came. She wasn't strong enough to speak.
She wasn't strong enough to meet those rage-filled eyes that burned like fire. In that moment, death felt like the kindest escape.
"There's no point crying now," he growled. "You'll be punished for what you've done. This isn't the first time you've crossed the rules of Rajgardh. So speak. Now."
His roar echoed through the room.
She flinched. His fury was rising like a storm, and she was standing in its path-powerless.
"I... I'm s-sorry... H-Hukum... b-but I-I swear, I haven't broken any rule this time... Please, please believe me..." Dhara's voice cracked under her sobs as she begged for mercy.
"Oh really?" he sneered. "You think I'll fall for your innocent act again?"
His grip tightened painfully. "I told you the day you stepped into this chamber-no man is allowed to touch you. You're mine. Only mine. And now you let not one, but four men touch you?"
His words sliced through her like blades.
Tears streamed down Dhara's cheeks. Her heart screamed her innocence, but none of it mattered. In Suryagardh, a rule was a rule. And no one questioned the consequences-not even if they were innocent.
And she... she was already marked guilty.
"H-Hukum... pl-please believe me," Dhara stammered, her voice shaking just like her body. "T-They're... just my school friends. Their parents also work in Rajgardh, they live here too. And I wasn't alone with them... my other friends were there too. Angha... Me-"
Samar cut her off sharply.
"I don't care!" His voice thundered in the chamber. "I don't care if the whole damn palace was with you. The fact is-those boys touched you. The same skin that only I have the right to touch."
He stepped closer, rage practically vibrating off him.
"I don't like sharing," he hissed. "Not my secrets, and *definitely not you.*"
Without warning, his hand slammed against the wall beside her, the sound echoing like a gunshot. Dhara flinched, shutting her eyes tight in terror.
"P-Please... Hukum... it's not what you're thinking," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
