Dhara’s heart was drowning in sorrow, and she was barely holding it in.

Across the room, Samar stood near the window, his gaze fixed on the rain outside. His face was calm—too calm. Stoic. As if the storm inside her meant nothing to him. But then he heard it—her soft, cracked voice piercing the silence.

A muffled sob followed.

He froze. His eyes widened slightly as he turned toward her, stunned by the sound. The calm in the room shattered. Dhara stood trembling, her pain now spilling over, her solitude screaming louder than her words.

“Why are your eyes always so cold?” she whispered, voice thick with hurt. “Why don’t I see any emotion in them? Why does it always feel so… empty?”

Her chest heaved as she took in a shaky breath, her tears falling faster.

“Is it like this for everyone? Or is it just me who gets this precious punishment? You come into my life again and again… only to rip my heart apart each time. Why, Hukum? Why me?”

Her voice cracked completely, her body shaking with the effort to suppress the storm inside her. Her words weren’t accusations—they were pleas. Desperate, vulnerable, raw.

She wanted to understand him. To tear past the cold silence and find even the faintest trace of warmth. But there was nothing. No expression. No flicker. Just those same cold eyes watching her break.

Dhara’s hands trembled. Her heart thudded painfully in her chest. Her eyes searched his face, pleading silently—please, feel something.

But Samar… he stood still. Distant.

He looked at her, but not with empathy. Not with remorse. He sawher tears, but couldn’t seem to feelthem. And that hurt her more than anything else.

Because despite everything she gave, despite all the pain she endured, she couldn’t reach him.

She had tried—again and again—to make him feel. To break through those walls. But those eyes held nothing but silence. Nothing but emptiness.

Her questions lingered In the space between them, unanswered.

And her wounded heart… finally broke.

The pain surged, unbearable and sharp—tearing through her like glass. And for the first time, she didn’t try to hide it.

Her heartbreak spilled freely now, unstoppable.

Dhara took a shaky step forward, her chest rising and falling with each unsteady breath. Her face was drenched in tears, eyes red and swollen, but her gaze didn’t falter.

It locked with his—those unreadable, cold eyes that had once made her feel safe. Now, they were tearing her apart.

Her lips trembled as she spoke, voice fragile, cracked.

“Can’t you see the pain in my eyes?” Her voice rose, just slightly, pleading. “There’s something in them… something you refuse to see, Hukum.”

Her hands balled into fists by her sides as she took another step toward him. “Sometimes even glaciers melt, but you—you stand there like stone. Why not you? Why am I the only one who feels everything? Why does looking into your eyes make me feel so small… so vulnerable?”

Her shoulders began to tremble as fresh tears streaked down her cheeks.

“How could you do this to me? Why are you giving me so much pain? A pain that neither I… nor you… can ever heal.”
