Chapter 39

Hope was holding onto my hand as we both walked into our mansion. I put my purse down on the table and let Hope watch tv in the family room while drinking from her sippy cup.

I noticed that Niall was home when I passed by the game room. I knocked on the wall before sitting next to him on the couch. He was playing FIFA so he was well concentrated on his game.

Wasn't long before Niall noticed that I was right next to him. He quickly paused his game and wrapped his arm around me.

"Hey love, sorry I forgot to tell you that we finished early so I got home about an hour ago. How did the interview go?" Niall kissed my forehead.

I let out a big sigh. "It was fun. I'm just getting worried because I finally confirmed the pregnancy today just like we talked about," I kept my eyes on the teli.

"It's okay sweetheart. You're just overthinking things again."

"Am I really being paranoid? How come I was never like this when I was pregnant with Hope?"

"Baby you aren't paranoid. You didn't know what to expect during the first pregnancy and now that it's your second time. You just know what's going to happen. You just don't want the same things to happen again. That's all."

Niall comforted me. I really have to stop stressing. I'm getting really tired of it. I just need to relax. Two babies on the way isn't so bad. Right?

It was getting late so I went to go put Hope to bed. I was going to ask her what she wanted to do for her birthday since it's less than a month away.

"Are you excited for your birthday, Hope?" I put the covers over her little body.

"Yeah! I turn 2!" She held up two fingers. I giggled.

"So what do you want to do for your birthday this year?" I asked.

"I want brother or sister."

"Well honey, the baby isn't coming until a few more months."

"I only want brother or sister!"

"Mommy and daddy are going to give you one. But what do you want while we wait for the baby?"

"Family." Hope said.

Finally. Something other than the baby. I hope.

"I got an idea. How about we invite only your uncles and aunties over and grandma and grandpa."

"And mamaw too?"

"Mamaw is busy taking care of other boys and girls. But we can FaceTime her on your birthday. Do we have a deal?"

"Yeah we do momma!"

I giggled and kissed Hopes forehead as I turned out her lights and closed the door.

I really wanted to go all out this year since I'm always looking for a way to give Hope things I didn't have as a kid but my daughter really knows how to appreciate things.

I figured since our family and friends were going to be over. It would be a perfect chance to tell them we are having twins and the genders. So far everyone thinks I'm pregnant with only one baby. I can't wait to see everyone's expressions.

It was getting late so Niall and I decided to get to bed. It wasn't until a few hours later I was woken up from my phone ringing. I checked to see what time it was.

2:48 a.m was on the alarm clock. Who could be calling at this hour? I didn't recognize the number. I answered sleepily.

I heard a woman speak through the other end of the phone line.
