I entered the next room.
This is like trials...
I thought.
Deiken and Mason were standing in the room.
"Hey."
Said Deiken. Mason waved but stayed silent. I waved to both, instead of speaking.
"Okay! You ready, Katie?"
Asked Deiken.
"Yep..."
I frowned.
"Unfortunately I am ready."
"Good! The only thing you have to do here is get your seal burnt onto you."
Chimed Deiken.
"Oh, WOW! Is that ALL? I only have to mutilate my skin burning runes in it! Wooooowwww!"
I said.
"It doesn't hurt because you have hunter blood."
Deiken laughed.
"It would kill you if you were human."
Said Mason. In the nicest possible way it is to say that sentence.
"Okay."
"So, get ready!"
Said Deiken.
Mason and Deiken started muttering unknown words to me under their breath. Deiken had a metal stamp in his hand. He dipped the end of the stamp in fire. And slowly moved it towards my arm. Just below the top of my shoulder. He continued chanting with Mason. He pressed the stamp against my skin and I got ready to scream. But the stamp wasn't hot. He pressed down on the stamp for 1 minute. Then, they stopped chanting and he removed the stamp.
"That's it."
Mason said happily.
"Oh... What does it do?"
I asked.
"A few things. It prevents you from getting possessed, it gives you a little bit more power than the blood coursing through your veins provides. Annnddd, it makes you able to use healing runes."
Said Deiken.
"Okay."
I said.
"Here a bestiary. Which is a list of all the demons and ghosts and ghouls you can come into contact with. There's also a weakness recorded on every known species."
Said Mason.
"And a book of runes. That I will need you to read over the next month, and perform the most important runes and spells in the book. It's 937 pages."
Said Deiken.
"Anyway. That's all you need to know from us. Go see Zeljion!"
Said Mason.
"Good luck!"
They both shouted as I left the room.
