On the way back, I fell asleep in his arms. Crying. The next morning, I woke up in his bed. He was asleep in a chair in the room. I looked at how peacefully he slept and smiled. I got up and put my head in his chest and hugged him.
"Thank you.. So much, Luke.."
His eyes were closed. And suddenly he put his hands on my back and hugged back.
"Your welcome, Katie.."
He said half asleep.
"You didn't have to give me your bed."
I said quietly.
"I didn't want anything else going down. I was up all night making sure nothing happened to you. I fell asleep about half an hour ago. And that reminds me. What in the bloody HELL, were you doing there at 3 in the morning?"
He said and frowned. I handed him the note, and he opened his eyes. He read it with a sickening face.
"That's terrible.. I'm sorry."
He said when he finished. He went to hand the note back to me, but then he jerked it away.
"I'm not going to let you have this back."
He said and ripped it.
"Okay..."
I said.
"Go to bed. In your bed. I'll go eat breakfast and do the training I can today. When you wake up, no matter what time it is, I'll make you something to eat. Okay?"
I said.
"No. We're going back to your house for a while."
"Why?..."
"To get leads on your mother. Your mother wasn't in that house. But all of the underworld has been ordered to kill you, and your family. Your mom is somewhere else. So, we need to find her before it's too late. It's okay. I'll sleep later. Go get dressed and then come back and see me."
Luke said.
"Okay."
I said and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you, again."
I said as I left the room.
