Chapter 33

I was raining outside. Thundering and lighting. I grabbed the things she was holding, called the cops, and left before they showed up. I was walking back to the church in the rain. Crying a little still. When I got back, and walked into the church door, I heard Hunter yelling.
"How could you just leave her there you ass??!! Go get her right now! You don't leave her there with her dead mother, AND make her walk home in the pouring rain. She NEEDED you! Even though she may not have acted like it. She NEEDED you. And you left her there! Go get her right now!"
She yelled at Luke. Luke walked out of the room and looked at me in the hallway near the main entrance. He started to say something.
"I-"
I walked away, hitting his shoulder on mine. Luke looked pissed. I don't know why he had any right to be pissed. He followed me back to my room, and knocked  on my door.
"LEAVE, LUKE!"
I yelled from inside. He opened the door and I stood up from the bed. From examining the items my mother was holding.
"Get. Out."
I said slowly. So that maybe he'd comprehend it this time. He stared at me. Guess not. I walked closer to him to push him out. He reacted quickly. He pinned me to the bed. On top of me, he was holding both my wrists to my chest with one hand, and holding my mouth with the other.
"Your gonna listen to me, Kate."
He said.
"I'm sorry I got pissed off at you. I was rude. And I didn't mean it."
I was still a little wet from being outside. My hair was still soaked. But my clothes had dried a bit.
"And I'm sorry about your mother. But we can't change that. So I'm sorry she's gone. All I can do is make sure you stay alive..."
Tears ran down my cheeks. He moved the hand on my mouth, and let go of my wrists.
"I'm sorry, Kaite..."
He said as he stared at nothing. Looking like he was about to cry. I ran my fingers through his hair and lightly pulled his head towards mine. He stared at me and kissed me. I kissed back and wiped his tear with my thumb.
"I'm sorry..."
He said again.
"I know, Luke.."
I said back.
"No.. I'm sorry I lied to you, too.."
"When did you lie to me?.."
"When I said you didn't make my heart race like I thought you would.."
He took my hand and placed it on his heart.
"You do.. And it's the best feeling I've ever felt in my life.. Everyone in my life I've pushed away.. My mother died like yours when I was young.. And my father was abusive, for the most part. I had a dog.. And he shot the dog in the face right in front of me. Right after I had trained it to sit. That dog was my only friend, too.. As I wasn't very popular in grade school because I was shy.. And never talked. He killed my best friend and then left and went and died on me. Which is why I'm here.. The same reason as you, pretty much... And I've never felt this way about another human being.. So.. I must say.. Kate McFarland.. I love you."
I stared at Luke in awe. Not really knowing what to say.
"I-I... Love you, too. Luke..."
He kissed me again, and then we started making out. Which had turned into sex. Luke Grey, had taken my virginity.
