I'm Kate McFarland. I was born with dark brown hair and deep brown eyes. My hair had grown out quite long in the years. I have many freckles on my face, and soft pink lips. I'm short, but very skinny. I was a small town girl, raised by only my mother. I had never known my father, and it didn't much matter to me. I never had any siblings. And my mother was allergic to many animals, so for the most part. It was just me and her. I don't mind that much either.

"Mom! I'm home."
I yelled as I entered the house. My mother was in the kitchen preparing dinner.
"How was school?"
"Good."
I said as I walked into the kitchen. I hugged my mother and sat on one of the kitchen chairs. My mother continued to cook. Sharon is a very nice, easy going person. I didn't know a lot about my mom's past. Mostly I knew about how she was now. We shared many things with each other. There weren't really many secrets. And if there were, they were soon shared.
"Katie, sweetheart."
"Yes, Sharon?"
We both giggled and my mother chimed,
"That's mom to you. In fact, I wish you'd stop calling me mother. It's very formal."
I was distracted from my mothers conversation as I folded the napkin on the table. Sharon smiled and sighed.
"So. Are you still going out tonight, Kate?"
"Oh. Yeah. I'm pretty sure the dance starts at 7:30."
"Alright. I'll make sure I have supper ready by then. You go get ready." Sharon laughed and signaled to go to my room and get ready. I got up and walked upstairs. Heading towards my room. I opened the door and proceeded inside.
