We made it back to my place. At the concrete door step I stopped and looked down.
Mom. Where are you?..
I thought. My eyes filled with tears again. Luke noticed.
"Hey... Your really strong.. But, you gotta cry sometime. You have to actually let it all out sometime, you know.."
He said. I looked up at him and my eyes were filled with tears.
"Y-yeah.."
He looked upset to look at my face. He looked away and started walking up the stairs.
"Sorry. Come on."
He said opening the door of the house.
Walking in. It was different now. The scenery. It had changed since I left. Which I honestly kinda expected because everything and their evil hell hound was looking for me and my mother. So.. I figured the place would be trashed. But that's not it. It was definitely trashed. But there was more. Huge amounts of blood was smeared on the walls and puddles on the floor. I gasped as I walked in and saw all that. There was blood on the counter, floor, walls, beds, sheets, couch, in the sink, in the different rooms. All over the place. It looked like a massacre had taken place here.
Who's blood was this?...
Luke examined the kitchen and fiddled with little irrelevant things. And I followed the trail of blood. I slowly opened the bedroom door.. And then. I screamed. My eyes filled with tears again, but this time I couldn't hold them back. I dropped on my knees and stared at my mothers lifeless body on the floor. Luke heard me scream and he ran in. He looked sad for me.
"Katie...."
He placed his hand on my back and I slapped his wrist.
"Don't touch me..."
I said under my breath. He ignored it and went to examine my mom.
"DON'T TOUCH HER!!!!"
I screamed at him.
"She's fucking dead.... I don't even know what I'm going to do anymore..."
I kinda knew all along that there was no way she was still alive the day she went missing. All the pieces came into place even more once Luke and the group had taken me in. It all became more clear. So why hadn't I cried before now? I don't know.. Either way. I've seen my mothers dead carcass on the floor. Her cold, lifeless body. Right in front of me. And there's nothing I can ever possibly do now to change that. I took to long. It's my fault.Mommy....
