Chapter 23

*** HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW. ***

It was Monday. Danielle and Liam's party was a HUGE success! One of the best parties I've ever been to.

Today was the first day of basketball practice and of course I was nervous. Basketball practice would be after school so I had time to relax before practice. We were sitting in social studies when I realized something wasn't right, something or someone was missing. I looked at the desks that surrounded me. Chandler, Niall, Louis, and Zayn were here. Sadie was missing. I can't believe I just now noticed.

"Hey Chandler," I asked "Where's Sadie?"

"Sadie doesn't feel good so she stayed home." Chandler whispered, trying not to get in trouble by Mr. Brayer.

"Oh okay, thanks." I said, smiling. Chandler smiled back at me and then went back to listening to Mr. Brayer talk about the Civil War.

Basketball practice over and I feel like I could die any second. My hair was soaking wet with sweat and my legs were numb. I somehow managed to walk to my car. When I reached my car, I got it. I found a water bottle in the cup holder, I picked it up and chugged the whole thing. The water was warm, but I didn't care. It was the only thing to fix my thirst. I reached over to the glove box and opened it. I started digging around until I found a headband. I slid it over my head and pushed it back. My sweaty hair was finally pulled back and out of my face.

I pulled out of the school parking lot and started driving, I was heading over to Sadie's to check on her. The whole way there I was thinking about how I was going to survive this basketball season. I'll be lucky if I make it out alive.

I pulled up to Sadie's, her car was in the driveway so I knew that she was home. I turned the car off and got out. On the way here I stopped at got me a nice, cold Smart Water. I grabbed that out of the cup holder before I shut the car door.

I walked up to the house and didn't bother knocking, I just walked right in...the door was unlocked and everything.

"Sadie?" I shouted, shutting the front door behind me.

"Up here." Sadie shouted, her voice cracked.

I walked up the stairs and into to her room.

"He-oh, that time of the month?" I asked, looking at Sadie who was sprawled out in her bed.

"How did you know?" Sadie snapped.

"Well from that attitude you just gave me, and you normally just don't skip school, lay in bed, eat chocolate, and watch Titanic all day." I said, looking at the T.V. in the corner of her room. Sadie rolled her eyes. Yeah, it's that time again. "Does this usually happen?"

"Eh. Every once in a while. When it's that time I get really sick. I run a fever, I get really tired and nauseous. It sucks being a girl." Sadie said as I walked over and sat on her bed. "How was practice?"

"I honestly won't be surprised if I die before the season is up." I said, laying down on the bed and resting my head on Sadie's shoulder.

"Get off of me! You're sweaty and hot!" Sadie said, scooting over.

"Someone is cranky." I mumbled.

"Whatever." Sadie rolled her eyes again. About that time her phone started ringing. She answered it and started talking to the person on the other line. "I don't know let me ask." Sadie pulled the phone away from her face, "It's Rhonda. She wants to know if you wanna go over there for dinner."
