Chapter 6
*** HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
"Harry, wake up." Cooper said, shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes and said "What's wrong bud?"
"I had a bad dream." Cooper said, scooting closer to me. I sat up on the couch and asked Cooper, "You had a bad dream?! It's okay, bud. It was just a dream!" Cooper climbed into my lap and we sat there for a while.
"I'm sorry for being mad at you earlier." Cooper apologized.
I chuckled and said "It's fine buddy. No need to apologize."
"You can have Sanie," Cooper said while looking at Sadie who was curled up in a ball on the couch, "But, don't be mean to her. She's a nice girl."
"I know she is." I said while checking my phone, it was three o'clock in the morning. "You should try to go back to sleep." I told Cooper.
"But I can't. And I'm thirsty." Cooper said.
"Well, what do you want to drink?" I asked. Cooper stood up on the couch and said "Take me to the kitchen and I will show you." I got up from the couch and picked up the weightless boy in my arms and carried him to the kitchen. I sat him down on the island, and opened up the fridge.
"Let's see here, we have some orange juice, apple juice, milk, water, and pop. Pop is out of the question." I said over my shoulder.
"But if we drink pop then you and me can stay awake and play without being tired." Cooper explained.
"You don't need any pop, how about orange juice?" I asked, Cooper shook his head no. "Apple juice?" Still a no, "Milk?" Milk was not acceptable, "Water?" I asked, Cooper said that water is boring.
"You're not having any pop, and that's final." I said, raising my voice a little.
"What is going on?" Sadie said, in a very mad tone.
"Harry won't let me have any pop!" Cooper shouted.
"Lower your voice, and that means that Harry is doing his job. It's three o'clock in the morning; you don't need any pop Cooper." Sadie said as she picked up Cooper. "Harry, can you get him some water?" Sadie asked as Cooper rested his head on her shoulder. I got the pitcher of water out of the fridge while Sadie got Cooper a cup. I poured him a glass of water, Cooper chugged it all down then we all went back into the living room.
*** SADIE'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I sat down on the couch and Cooper curled up into my lap. I rocked my body back and forth for a while to get him to fall asleep. His eyes were starting to droop when Harry said "You guys are really close."
I chuckled, "Yeah, he's like the little brother I've never had. He even tells people that I'm his sister."
"He's a cute kid; he's a good kid too." Harry said, chuckling as well.
"Did you hear him screaming during our last softball game?" I asked.
"That was him?!"
"Yep, he was cheering me on! He's my little man and I'm his girl, until you know he's old enough to date." I said.
"Is your aunt strict like your parents?" Harry asked.
"Psh! Hell no, that's one of the reasons why I absolutely love my aunt Rhonda! She's not strict at all, she's very laid back. Sometimes I'd rather have her and my uncle David be my parents. But don't get me wrong I love my parents; their strictness keeps me under control. But, sometimes it's too much." I explained.
"What do you mean by, it's too much sometimes?" Harry asked.
"Well let's see here. Oh! I wasn't allowed to wear a bikini until last summer! I'm not supposed to drink pop, but I do when my parents are gone. I can't play video games, but I do when I hang out with Louis. I have to put tape over the webcam on my laptop because my parents are afraid that someone could hack into the camera and watch me. My phone has to be turned off at nine o'clock on the dot at night and it has to stay on the kitchen counter at night. I'm not allowed to go to the public pool, something about diseases in the pool. And then last but not least, I can't date until I graduate college, but I'm bending the rules on that one." I said, winking at Harry.
