Chapter 4
*** HARRY’S POINT OF VIEW. ***
School went by fast today; I got really close to Sadie today. I have the feelings for her, like more than friend’s feelings. And I think she’s starting to feel the same way, which is a good thing. I arrived to the football game, a little bit before the game and there was already a huge swarm of people. I walked up to the concession stands to get something to drink when I received a text:
From: Sadie
Hey Haz! Idk if you’ve arrived yet, but if so, we are up in the bleachers...you know what…I’ll just come and get you. Where are you?
I quickly texted her, saying that I was at the concession stands and a few minutes later Sadie was in sight. “Hey!” she said, opening up her arms. I quickly slid my wallet into my back pocket, greeted and hugged her. “Did you have trouble getting here?” Sadie asked.
“Nope! I asked Louis for directions, when does the game start?” I asked, sucking hot tea out of the straw that was in my drink. “The game starts at seven, I always get here early because it’s so hard to find a seat if you even show up five minutes late.” Sadie said, before ordering her red slushy. After her slushy was done, we walked up to the stands together. Sadie led me over to Louis, Zayn, Eleanor and Perrie and we sat down.
“Where are Chandler and Danielle?” I asked. Sadie explained that Chandler and Danielle both cheer, and told me again that Liam and Niall play football. Sadie and I were in the middle of talking when a man with a deep voice spoke to inform the crowd that the game was now starting. His voice boomed over the field as he said “Vixen Bulldogs are you ready?” The whole crowd cheered. “I can’t hear you” the man said “I said, Vixen Bulldogs are…you…ready?” The crowd cheered even louder. “I still can’t hear you guys. I said, Vixen Bulldogs are you ready!?” the man said again, and hopefully it was the last time. The crowd roared. “That’s more like it.” Said the man. In the distance, I could hear the faint sound of cleats stomping on concrete. Many boys in red, black and white uniforms took the field and took their positions. The game was now officially starting.
The cheerleaders hushed the crowd with their chant, “Let’s hear all the freshman yell, V-H-S” a little group at the top of the stands responded to the cheerleaders, “Let’s hear all the sophomores yell, V-H-S” a big group of kids in the middle of the stands also responded to the cheerleaders, “Let’s hear all the juniors yell, V-H-S,” a medium sized group of kids in the next set of bleachers responded to the cheerleaders, “Let’s hear all the seniors yell, V-H-S” all the people that I was sitting by, roared the words V-H-S, “Let’s hear all the bulldogs yell, V-H-S!” the whole crowd cheered, while the other team booed us.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re just jealous!” Louis yelled back.
Just like the school day, the game went by kind of fast. It was halftime now. “Hey, you wanna come with me to get something to eat?” Sadie asked. “Yeah, sure.” I said while getting up from the bleacher that was making my butt ache. I followed Sadie down the long aisle and to the stairs that led to the gravel. We walked really slow, talking and just having a moment to ourselves. We walked up to the concession stands, and guess who was running the concession stands?
“Hi Harry!” Olivia said while putting a strand of loose hair behind her abnormally large ears.
“Hi…” I said while looking at the menu.
“Hi Sadie…” Olivia snarled. Sadie just rolled her eyes. “So what can I get you guys?” Olivia asked. I looked at Sadie, motioning her to go ahead. “I want…Cathy to get me a hot chocolate.” Sadie turned to me, waiting for me to say what I wanted. “Uh, yeah. I also want Cathy to get me a hot chocolate and a hot dog.” Olivia sighed and gave a girl with shoulder length black our orders. The girl, which I am assuming is Cathy, handed us our food and drinks, and said “Enjoy the game guys!” Sadie thanked her and we started walking back towards the stand. On the way back, I started eating my hot dog. I bit into it, the bun seemed rather hard, and I could immediately infer that the bun was not hard and that it was something else.
