Chapter 31

*** CHANDLER'S POINT OF VIEW. ***

I woke up around eleven. I laid in bed and stared at the plain, white ceiling in my room. I was too lazy and my bed was too comfy...I didn't want to get up. Once I finally convinced myself to get out of bed, I walked downstairs. Once I hit the bottom of the stairs, I noticed the back door was opened. I walked to the back door and found my parents sitting at the patio table, drinking coffee and talking.

"Good morning, sunshine!" My mom said, once she saw me approach the table.

"Good morning." I said while sitting down on an open patio chair.

"How'd you sleep?" My mom asked.

"I slept like a log last night." I said, yawning and rubbing my eyes.

"Your hair looks like a wreck." My dad said, not looking up from his newspaper.

"I just woke up. Do you expect me to brush my hair the minute I wake up?" I asked, my dad shrugged his shoulders and turned the page of his newspaper.

"What's on your agenda today?" My mom asked, before taking a sip of her coffee.

"Sadie planned on taking me and the girls over to the shopping center. She said something about celebrating my birthday...like a belated birthday party." I said.

"Well that's nice! It's supposed to be warm but kind of chilly today so dress for the weather!" My mom said.

I got up from the chair and went back into the house. I walked into the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal before walking upstairs to get ready.

Once I got into my room, I immediately walked to my bathroom. I turned the shower on and then grabbed a towel and washcloth from the little closet in the bathroom. I stripped down and hopped in the shower.

I got out of the shower about ten minutes later. I wrapped my towel around me and walked into my room and then making my way to my closet. I stood there for a while, trying to figure out what to wear. I decided on a pair of denim shorts with distressed rips on the front, Niall's grey UCLA sweater, and pair of white classic canvas TOMS. I put everything on my bed and grabbed a bra and a pair of underwear. I put everything on and walked back into the bathroom, doing my hair and makeup. I dried my hair and put it up in a messy bun and my makeup was light.

"Chandler, honey!" My mom hollered from downstairs, "Sadie is here!"

I took a quick look at myself in the mirror before walking downstairs.

"Hey!" I said, jumping at Sadie as she stood at the bottom of the stairs with her arms.

She let out a laugh when she grabbed me, "Hey girl!"

"Oh my gosh, stay right there! I have to get my camera!" My mom squealed, running off to go find her camera.

"My mom is crazy." I mumbled, Sadie let out a loud laugh as she continued to stand there and hold me.

Once my mom took our picture, she showed it to us. Sadie asked her if she could print it out for her, my mom said she would and let us go. Sadie and I walked out the door to her car, after I grabbed my purse. We got in the car and we backed up out of the driveway and drove down the road.

"Thanks for taking time off today to plan this for me!" I said, placing my bag on the floor board of the car.

"Well of course! Anything for my best friend! All I had to do this morning was take Cooper to football practice and Rhonda said she would cover my shift today at the bakery." Sadie said, squirming around in her seat.
