Chapter 3

 *** SADIE’S POINT OF VIEW. ***

“Haynes, wake up! Today’s game day, get up and get ready! Breakfast will be done in a few minutes!” my mom said, shaking my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes, and laid there for another minute or so before I got up and went upstairs. I walked into my bathroom and turned the shower on, stood at the top of the stairs and shouted “Dad, can I wear my jersey today?”

“Heck yes you can!” my dad said, giving me a thumbs up. I walked into my room, grabbed my phone and texted Chandler:

To: Chandler

Good morning! Wear your jersey today! See you soon!

I put my phone down and hopped in the shower. I got out about fifteen minutes later, dried my hair, did my makeup, I put my hair up in a teased ponytail and did the original softball tradition, I put a red bow in my hair. I walked into my room and got dressed; I put on my black under armor long sleeved shirt, jeans, my softball jersey and then put on my Nike Shox. I took one last look at myself in the mirror and went downstairs into the kitchen, with a surprise waiting for me.

“Cooper!” I said to my 4 year old cousin.

“Sanie!” Cooper said, he has difficulty saying my name. My aunt Rhonda and her son Cooper come over all time, we’re really close and they practically live here. They’re always dropping in, staying for dinner, and sometimes they stay the night, and I don’t mind it one bit. I said hello to my aunt and sat down in one of the bar stools that stood by the island in the middle of the kitchen. I was in the middle of eating when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

“Sanie, guess what?” Cooper asked.

“What, Cooper?” I asked, taking a sip of my orange juice.

“Yesterday in Preschool, I learned how to write my name.” Cooper said while taking a bit bite out of his pancake.

“You did?!” I asked, “Can you write your name for me?” I asked, getting up to get a piece of paper and a pencil. Cooper nodded his head and I laid the piece of paper and pencil in front of him. He grabbed the pencil in his little hand, and taking his time he wrote his name. I looked at the paper and said “Cooper, your ‘R’ is backwards.” Cooper just laughed and said “I know, Sanie, it’s supposed to be that way!”

“No it’s not! Here this is how you’re supposed to write your name.” I said, taking the pencil away from him and writing his name the correct way. After I was done, he took the pencil from me and wrote his name again, the ‘R’ was still backwards, I just gave up trying.

“Sadie, he’s four. Cut him some slack.” My mom said while taking my empty plate from me.

“Okay, I’ll cut him some slack for now.” I said, “But I’m going to go. Cooper, are you going to come to my game tonight?”

“Of course I will Sanie. You crazy?” Cooper said while giving me a hug goodbye. I told my mom, dad, Cooper and my Aunt Rhonda goodbye and I grabbed my stuff and left.

Once I got to school, I walked up to Chandler and in a deep voice, trying to impersonate Niall; I said “Hey hot stuff.” Chandler turned around and said “Nice try, you suck at speaking with an Irish accent.” I laughed and asked if she was excited for the game, considering that Olivia wouldn’t be playing. She was more than excited, and I was too. Chandler and I sat down at a table and waited for everyone else to show up. The first people to show up were Niall, Perrie and Zayn. Next were Liam, Danielle, Eleanor and Louis. Then, last but not least, Harry arrived. Finally the whole gang was together. After the first bell rang, Chandler, Niall, Harry, Louis, Liam, Zayn and I walked to Home Ec., together. Home Ec., went by fast, and then it was time for science. We did experiments today; Chandler and I were in the middle of our experiment when we heard a glass shatter in front of us.
