Chapter 37
*** HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
It was Thursday. We came back to school this Tuesday since all the snow we've been getting. Tonight was the talent show. I didn't find out until last Saturday that us boys are doing three songs! Three fucking songs! Niall said that you can sing a total of three songs and it helps you with a better chance of winning the talent show, it just depends on how well your performance was.
I was loving this day because if you were in the talent show, you got out of class the majority of the day so you can practice. I guess another reason why I enjoyed it because Sadie was there too. She's announcing everything, just like what she did at homecoming. She was also helping Chandler with the sound systems and lighting.
Tonight, I was going to surprise Sadie with a song that the boys and I wrote called "They Don't Know About Us." But we couldn't perform it until Sadie was out of the room because I didn't want her to hear it. So we were backstage while another group performed, thinking of ways to get Sadie out of the auditorium while we sang the song. We would only need five minutes to perform the song and we needed something to keep Sadie busy for at least four of those minutes. The whole group knew about the song except Sadie.
"Hey, Chandler?" I said, taping Chandler's shoulder.
"What's up, Harry?" Chandler asked, looking up from a clipboard that she was holding in her hands.
"We're getting ready to perform the song. So, we need you to get Sadie out of here." I said, looking around and making sure Sadie wasn't near.
"Okay! What do you want me to do?" Chandler asked.
"Um..." I said, "Say that you have to get something out of your car and you need her help. Stay out there for like five minutes."
"Harry, it's freezing outside!" Chandler said.
"Then go to the bathroom. Gossip and talk about what brand of pads and tampons you use, I don't know. Just get her out of here!" I said.
Chandler threw her head back and let out a laugh, "Alright! Text me when you guys are done!"
And with that, Chandler was out of sight. The boys and I watched from the stage as Sadie and Chandler left the auditorium. We ran over the song and it was absolutely amazing. Louis would be playing the piano and it was just amazing. And Zayn when he hits the high notes, oh yeah...if I were a girl he would make me moist. What?! Who said that?! I don't know who it was but that was aca-awkward.
But anyways back to the talent show. The first song we're singing is "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon, then a few acts perform, then we're going to sing "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia, more acts perform, then we would perform "They Don't Know About Us" and then we would be done.
Oh, and another thing. In all these months that I've known Perrie, I've never heard her sing. Today I finally got the chance to listen to hear her sing. You would think that there was a black woman trapped inside of Perrie. Her voice was just so soulful, she sounded like a black lady singing in the church choir! Her voice was so pretty!

I stepped out of the shower. I quickly dried myself off and slid on a pair of boxers. I went into my bedroom and stood at my closet. The boys and I decided to look formal but yet casual. So like nice flannel shirts and stuff like that. After ten minutes passed, I picked out a pair of black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and a blue and black plaid shirt. I threw everything on, rolling the sleeves up to my elbows and leaving the shirt buttoned but only like the fourth button down.
I walked back into my bathroom. I dried and fixed my hair, brushed my teeth, and put on deodorant and cologne. After that I walked downstairs. My mum, sister, and step dad were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. My mom had her camera ready and took pictures as I walked down the stairs.
"Mum, it's just a talent show." I complained as my eyes were hurting from the camera flash.
"I'm sorry baby, it's just an important night. Plus, just think about it. Once you're done tonight you're off of school until the first week of January! Now get with your sister!" My mum said, scooting us together. She took a picture and then handed the camera to Robin, "Take our picture!"
After a while, the picture taking was over. Thank The Lord. Once we finished with pictures and let our eyes adjust, we all slid our coats on and went out to the car. We got in and made our way to the high school. Gemma kept asking me questions about the song that I was going to surprise Sadie with and my mom asked questions with her.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm so ready for this night to be over.
*** SADIE'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I stood in my closet. I was in my pajamas and my hair and makeup were done. I stood there, looking for something to wear. I couldn't find anything so I decided to wear the outfit that I wore to Thanksgiving. I slid everything on and sat on my closet floor, deciding if I should wear heels or not. I finally decided to wear heels but grabbed a pair of flats just in case I changed my mind. I slid my heels on and walked out into my bedroom. I grabbed my purse, threw my phone into it, grabbed my coat and walked downstairs.
Rhonda, Dave, and Cooper were taking me to the talent show. My dad was too busy and my mom was once again caught up at work. Cooper was super excited because he is determined that I'm going to win the talent show. This happens every year. He thinks that since I go up and talk on stage then that means that I'm entitled to win a trophy. Once the talent show comes to an end, I get asked so many questions about why I didn't win anything.
"You ready to go?" David asked.
"Yeah! Let me put Rocky up then I'll be ready." I said, walking into the kitchen and grabbing Rocky's food and water bowls.
I took them to the hall bathroom downstairs and threw a few toys in the bathroom as well. After I put Rocky in the bathroom, I shut the door and made my way out the door with Rhonda, Dave, and Cooper.

I walked out onto the stage. The bright light from above hit me and everyone in the crowd stopped talking. The only thing you could hear was my heels clicking on the stage. I walked out into the middle of the stage and held the microphone up to my face.
"Good evening! If any of you don't know who I am, I'm Sadie Haynes and I will be your host tonight I guess you can say. Thank you so much for coming out tonight to support our school talent show. Every single person who will be performing tonight has worked super hard! Thank you to all the parents and staff that have helped us make this happen. Lets see, please silent your phones and please remain seated. Throughout the night we will have intermissions so please remain seated while we are either setting up for the next performance or if an act is performing. You are aloud to record, just so y'all know. I think that's it! Again, thanks for coming out and I hope you enjoy the show! Our first act will be Ed Sheeran who will be performing a song he wrote himself called 'A Team'!"
The room filled with clapping and 'woot'ing. I quickly hurried off the stage and stood backstage waiting for Ed to be done so I could go out onto the stage to introduce the next act.
