Chapter 16
<< THE NEXT DAY. >>
*** HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I walked into the cafeteria after I got to school this morning. I spotted Niall and Liam, I walked over to them and sat down.
"Good morning boys." I said, throwing my stuff down next to me.
"Morning!" Liam said.
"Top of the morning to you, lad!" Niall boasted.
"Where's Chandler and Danielle?" I asked.
"Danielle and Chandler are up there getting breakfast." Niall said, pointing to the kitchen. "Where's Sadie?"
"Not here." I snapped. Niall and Liam looked at each other, I sighed. "Sorry guys, I'm just a little upset."
"Why?" Liam asked, "Did you and Sadie get into a fight?"
"No...we broke up." I said, looking down at my bandaged hand.
"You did what?!" Niall said, slamming his milk carton down on the table.
"We broke up last night. Her parents found out about us and told her that she had to break up with me." I explained.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear!" Liam said, patting my shoulder. "And I'm guessing that's what caused the bandaged hand?"
"Yes sir." I said.
We sat there for a few more minutes before Danielle and Chandler came over. I'm guessing Chandler already knew because she didn't say a word to me. Danielle was very chatty and moody this morning. She would be happy-go-lucky one second and then she would yell at you the next. She mostly yelled at Liam because he just picked on her.
A couple minutes before the first bell rang, Eleanor, Louis, Zayn, Perrie, and Sadie came walking in. Zayn, Perrie, Eleanor, and Louis came and sat down while Sadie kept walking to what it seemed like the 12th grade wing. We sat there and talked until the first bell rang. I got up from the table, grabbed my stuff, and made my way towards the gym.
*** ZAYN'S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I walked to the twelfth grade wing after the first bell rang. I walked over to my locker and hung my bag on the hook in my locker. I unzipped my bag, reached inside and grabbed my pencil. I shut my locker and started walking down the hallway towards Sadie.
"Hey there!" I said, standing against the locker next to hers.
"Hi Zayn." Sadie said, flashing me a quick smile.
"You ready to go to art?" I asked, smiling back.
"Yep!" Sadie said, waving her pencil in the air and shutting her locker.
Sadie and I were sitting at a table sketching when we started talking about random stuff.
"When's the last time you took Perrie on a date?" Sadie asked while reaching across the table, grabbing a mini pencil sharpener.
"Um...I don't know...why?" I asked, doodling in my sketch book.
"Perrie and I were talking the other night and she said she misses how you two never go out anymore." Sadie said while sharpening her pencil.
"Oh, well she never says anything about it to me." I said.
"So! That's why you take her out on a surprise date or just pick a day to hang out with each other!" Sadie said.
"I'm just trying to get ready for basketball and the winter talent show...so I've been busy!" I said, shutting my sketch book and sliding it down to the end of the table.
"Zayn, basketball starts in November and Winterfest is in December! You'll be fine, you have time!"
Sadie and I got up from our table and walked to the back of the room to get paint, paint brushes, water, and our canvases.
"I know! But basketball is a month away and the talent show is two months away! Time is gonna fly and then BOOM! It'll be time for basketball practice everyday and rehearsals for the show. I won't have time to do anything!" I said, pouring paint onto the paint disk.
"But Perrie is YOUR girlfriend! Take her out to dinner and a movie!" Sadie said, grabbing our projects and paint brushes, and walking back over to our table. I followed her carrying the paint disks and water buckets.
"You know, I guess you're right...Perrie and I have been a little distant." I said, sitting down in my chair. "What did you and Harry do on your most recent date?"
Sadie's face sunk, in a quiet voice she said "I don't remember." Sadie looked out the window closest to our table.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Um..." Sadie whispered, dipping her paint brush into the red paint, "Harry and I broke up last night."
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes Zayn, I'm being serious. I wouldn't lie to you." Sadie said, glancing up at me.
"What the hell happened? You guys were fine the other day." I said quietly, making sure that Mr. Rogers didn't hear me curse.
Sadie sighed and put her paintbrush down. She looked up at me and said "My parents read the newspaper article and told me that I had to break up with him."
I rubbed my forehead, I was going to say something but just kept it to myself. Sadie and I sat there in silence the rest of the class period. When the bell rang, Sadie and I walked out of the room together, making our way to the twelfth grade wing.
