Chapter 5

*** SADIE'S POINT OF VIEW. ***

Once I woke up this morning, I was scared to death to go downstairs and talk to my parents about last night. Finally around noon I worked up the courage to go downstairs. I opened my bedroom door, and noticed that the whole house was silent. I slowly walked downstairs and looked all around the house; no one was there except me. I walked outside to see if all the cars were here and moms white Tahoe was missing. I walked back inside and walked into the kitchen to find something to munch on. I opened the fridge, got out the milk, walked over to the cabinet and got out a bowl and the cereal. I sat everything on the island, and noticed a slip of paper. It read:

Sadie,

Your dad had a coaching emergency. Apparently one of the softball coaches at one of the tournaments got sick and he’s filling in for him. So we won’t be home until tomorrow evening. If you need anything, call Aunt Rhonda. Love you. –Mom.

I crumbled up the paper and threw it away then I poured myself a bowl of cereal. I sat down in the cushioned bar stool and scarfed down my cereal. When I finished drinking all the remaining milk out of the bottom on the bowl, I got a text from Chandler:

From: Chandler

Homecoming is three weeks away! Should we go ahead and shop for dresses?!(:

I quickly responded, put my bowl in the dishwasher and walked upstairs to get ready. I hopped in the shower, hopped out fifteen minutes later, did relaxed curls in my hair, put on a little bit of makeup and then ran to my closet to find something to wear. I finally found my Eiffelavigne tank, white denim shorts, and some neon yellow gladiator sandals. As soon as I gathered up my money and put it in my purse, I heard a car horn honk. I walked downstairs and then out the door, to greet Niall, Chandler and Harry. “You look beautiful today.” Harry said, greeting me with a hug and a kiss. “Awe heck, you look beautiful every day!” Harry added. I smiled and thanked him. I locked the front door and followed Harry out to Niall’s car. I hopped in the back and Harry sat by me. After Chandler and Niall got in the car we were on our way!

“So Niall, what are we going to do while these girls shop?” Harry asked.

“Well, I was thinking that you and I should go shopping for tuxes. But that won’t take long, so maybe we’ll hit the food court afterwards.” Niall said while stopping at a stoplight.

“Hah! That doesn’t surprise me one bit!” Chandler said as she played on her phone. Niall gave her a weird look, “What? You always eat.” Chandler said. Niall just kept on driving. Harry kept playing with my hands, which made the butterflies in my stomach go crazy!

*** NIALL’S POINT OF VIEW. ***

“We’re here!” I said as I pulled into a parking space in the mall parking lot. We all got out of the car, and the heat coming off of the asphalt had me sweating like a hooker in a church! I grabbed Chandler’s hand and we walked up to the front doors of the mall. Once we got inside, Chandler and Sadie walked off to go dress shopping while Harry and I started walking to go get our tuxes. We walked into the tux store and a lady came out and told us to take a seat. Harry and I sat down in two comfy chairs.

“So, have you asked Chandler to homecoming yet?” Harry asked, trying to start a conversation.

“No, but I’m going to on Monday. It’s going to be special.” I said, flipping through a magazine. “Have you asked Sadie yet?”

“Erm…no, but I kissed her last night!” Harry said with a confident smile.

“You did!?” I said, slamming the magazine down in my lap. Harry shook his head and was still smiling. “But, you guys aren’t even dating.” I added. Harry looked at the ground and said “Yeah, you’re right. We aren’t dating; this is a little weird now.”
