Chapter 10

*** CHANDLER'S POINT OF VIEW. ***

I woke up bright and early today with a huge smile on my face! Today was the day of the homecoming dance! I got out of bed and walked downstairs to get a warm greeting from my mom.

“Good morning!” My mom chirped.

“Good morning mom.” I said while sitting down in one of the bar stool chairs.

“Today’s a big day!” My mom said before taking a sip of her coffee. I nodded my head and peeled an orange that was sitting in a bowl on the counter. As I was sitting there, peeling my orange, butterflies started fluttering around in my stomach. I don’t know why I was so nervous, I’ve never been nervous when the homecoming dance rolled around! When I finished my orange I went upstairs to start getting ready. I walked into my bathroom and turned the shower on. I walked around my room and started getting everything ready, I checked my phone before getting in the shower and I had a message from Niall.

From: Nialler

This night will be memorable. Love you. –Niall

Tons of things started going off in my head, some good and some bad. I shrugged it off my shoulder as I got in the shower. I took a really long shower, I was trying to wash the nervous feeling away but it just wasn’t happening. I hopped out of the shower and slid on some skinny jeans and a white V-neck. I walked downstairs, slid my TOMS on and said goodbye to my mom when I heard Sadie honk her car horn.

“Good morning!” Sadie said as I hopped in her car.

“Morning! You ready to go a get our hair did?” I asked.

“It’s done…and yes!” Sadie said while pulling out of my driveway.

We walked into the beauty parlor and there was tons of girls in there, half of them were from our grade! Sadie and I sat down on a couch in a little waiting area they had at the front of the parlor.

“So…um…I got an interesting text from Niall this morning.” I said, flipping a page in a magazine that I was reading.

“What did it say?” Sadie asked.

“It said: This night will be memorable. Love you. –Niall.” I said while reading her the text from my phone.

“I wonder what that means.” Sadie said, winking at me.

“You little pervert!” I quietly shouted.

“Who knows, it might happen.” Sadie said.

“Yeah, I guess we’ll never know. But I’m not ready for that if Niall really wants to.”

“I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m pretty sure that if you’re uncomfortable and you tell Niall, he’ll understand and he’ll wait until you’re ready.” Sadie ensured me. I sighed and finished reading the rest of the magazine.

“Hey girls, you guys ready!?” Harper asked. Harper has been my hair stylist ever since I was a little girl; she was the girl who gave me my first haircut! She’s a short lady, in her late thirties. She has shoulder length hair, that’s like a burgundy color. She’s married and has a daughter who is seven, Hayley. Long story short, she’s the world’s best hair stylist!

“I think so!” I said while getting up from the sofa. Sadie got up a couple minutes after me and we followed Harper to the back.

“Hey Brandy.” Sadie said to Brandy, she’s the new girl. She has long black hair, a fake tan, and acrylic nails but she’s nice.
