Chapter 8
*** SADIE’S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I rolled over in my bed, my head turning on my pillow. As I lay my head on my pillow, I noticed that my pillow is thumping a steady beat. Thump…thump…thump. Thump…thump…thump. I tap my finger to the beat, suddenly my blankets move. I slowly opened my eyes and said “Harry, what are you doing?!”
Harry looked down at me, smiled and said “What does it look like I’m doing? I’m lying in bed with my girlfriend.”
I blushed at the fact that he said that I was his girlfriend and asked “How did you get in here?”
“I climbed through the window.” Harry said, looking at the window behind my bed.
“Harry, my windows are locked.”
“I’m joking. I knocked on the front door and Rhonda answered and told me that I could come up here.” Harry explained. I nodded my head and rolled over in bed, reading the time on my alarm clock…11:24.
“What time did you get here?” I asked.
“Um…around 8:15.” Harry said after he finished replying to a text. “How’s your stomach?” I slowly sat up in bed and lifted up my shirt a little bit.
“Well, I’m really sore and there’s a big bruise on my stomach.” I said while poking the black and blue circle on my stomach.
“Quit poking it!” Harry said while grabbing my hands. I tried to get my hands away from his, which turned into a wrestling match. When I finally got Harry pinned down to the bed, Aunt Rhonda came in.
“Is now not a good time?” Aunt Rhonda said, winking at me.
“No, you’re fine.” Harry said.
“Okay, well I’m gonna go to the bakery. If you need me you can call me on my cellphone. You guys should drop by later. I could always use some help.” Rhonda said and then telling us goodbye before shutting the door.
“What bakery is Rhonda talking about?” Harry asked.
“She owns a bakery downtown. I work there during the winter and early spring. When softball season is over and before golfing season starts.” I explained.
Harry got up from my bed and said “Wanna go out for lunch?”
“Sure, just let me freshen up a bit and get dressed.” I said while getting up from my bed and heading towards the bathroom.
*** HARRY’S POINT OF VIEW. ***
I asked Sadie if she wanted to go out for lunch, she told me that after she freshened up a bit then we would go somewhere. Sadie slowly started to get up from her bed, even getting out of bed hurts her stomach. I walked up to Sadie and helped her up out of bed, she walked over to her closet and was getting her clothes while I went into her bathroom and started the shower for her.
“I’ll be out in about 20 minutes…it would usually be 10 minutes but I’m a little slow now.” Sadie said, sitting her stuff down on the counter in her bathroom.
“Take your time darling, we’re in no big hurry.” I said while jumping into her bed. Sadie nodded, went into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. About 30 minutes later she came back out, looking very casual and comfortable in a grey and lime green under armor sweatshirt, jeans, her Nike Shox, and her hair in a messy bun with her bangs braided.
“Ready?” Sadie said, opening her bedroom door. I nodded my head and followed her downstairs. Once Sadie grabbed her phone and purse we headed out to my car. We were driving down the road when I asked her where she wanted to go. She gave me a bunch of directions and we finally parked my car in a sports bar parking lot.
