I crouching down I hid myself in the bushes. Mani and Suna followed suit. Scanning ahead I saw a path around the Tormentor.
"Hey, over that way," I whispered to the twins as I motioned ahead.
There was a path through the bushes, away and out of sight of that hulking thing. Mani nodded once sharply, while Suna gave a few quick nods. It seemed like she was on edge. I motioned to them to follow behind me. We slowly made our way through the underbrush around the creature avoiding its pathing. That was until Mani stepped on a branch.
The noise caused the creature to stop and turn its atrention toward the twins who were a few steps behind me. After a moment it started moving toward the source of the sound. I motioned to the two, trying to get them move away quickly, but they both froze staring at each other in panick.
A moment after the creature was now standing just several feet away from Suna who was staring up at the creature. As it spotted her it roared before raising that rusted, dull, and chipped cleaver above its head.
Without wasting a second more I jumped up and dashed in.
"Suna, duck!" I screamed out charging toward the monster. I unleashed the arte 'Expulse,' pushing the monster backwards with a blast of energy.
I then stood between Suna and the monster. It stood back up, roared once more before charging at me enraged. I cast the arte 'Esper Shell,' on myself creating a barrier to protect me from its next hit. Raising my hands up blocking the brunt of the attack, its crude weapon aimed at my head. A sharp pain ran through my arms, toward my back and then down legs. The hit took about a tenth of my health, and took my breath away.
