"Holy shit," Suki mutters, staring up at the building, the luxurious greenhouse sunroom instead of an equally luxurious patio being the focal point of the top floor. I never knew exactly where Ivy lived and she kept the secret well hidden, but if anyone had come though this side of the city, it may as well be a big red sign with her name flashing in front of it. "This is definitely Ivy's place."

"And there's Mercy's car," I hear Damon say in my ear piece. I look around before finding the black BMW parked haphazardly in the alleyway beside the building.

"You still stand on the idea that she would never, Damon?" I grumble, watching in my rearview as Joker's car flies around the corner, 2 black Escalades following suit. Damon is quiet for a few seconds too long so as I park, I scan the rooftops, finding him standing fiercely as he faces the building.

"We're gonna scale the building," he mutters. "And stay down there until I say."

"Damon, what the f-" I spit, slamming my car door shut just as Joker, Frost, and his men get out of their cars, Dahlia, Suki, and Graham all look at me, equally as exasperated at what was just heard over our earpieces.

"Cheyenne, I will do the right thing," he huffs before disappearing from the edge of the building.

"What? Why are we just standing here?" Frost asks, staring up at the greenhouse as he, Joker, and his other men approach. I ignore them, letting Graham follow through on his promise that I'd never have to speak to Joker or his men again as long as he was around.

"Mercy's GPS led us right to here and Damon just gave us orders to stay down here while he scales the building," He mutters, clearly not really wanting to speak to him either, but doing what was needed. I roll my eyes before taking a glance at everyone around me, knowing we were all armed, all angry, and all dangerous. Suki watches me, waiting for me to make eye contact to confirm that we were thinking the same. And when I do, she nods, instilling a confidence in me that I thought was gone.

"If he wants to stop me, he's gonna have to fucking kill me," I mutter, moving towards the building. I hear Dahlia hum in agreement as she, Graham, and Suki follow suit.

"I like the way you're thinking," Joker grumbles, motioning for his men to follow behind us.

"Suki, Graham, come with me," I order, stepping up to the entrance and peeking in. The building seemed quiet and regular. Almost too peaceful to be true, but I knew it wasn't. I knew what lied within. "Joker, Dahlia, and Frost go up the fire escape, meet me in the middle. Keep them pinned."

When I reach the top floor, I can see light spilling into the hall from an open apartment door. My steps slow as I pull my gun from the inside of my jacket carefully, listening as an argument ensues from inside the apartment. It's emotional and raw, the female voice sobbing and struggling to express herself coherently while the male voice was cold and uncaring. Bored, even.

I sidle up to the doorway, right hand nested on my gun comfortably for if I needed to draw it quickly. Suki and Graham right behind me

"James?" I mutter, looking between him and Mercy. He glances up, his expression relaxing from tense, pissed off. But it didn't relax in a way that was scared or careful. It was sinister. Triumphant that I was here, so whatever was going to happen next would be evil.

Mercy's gaze snaps to mine, visibly angry. I furrow my eyebrows, watching as she turns back to look at James. "Is she why you broke up with me?"
