Was for the party that owed the money to admit to it publicly, which he had just very stupidly done. Abe knew the 'Zeklos clan' well, having already done business with James a few times in the past.

So, he knew damn well that James and Jesse Zeklos both would more likely than not try everything in their power to renege on the bet. That is just the type of people that we all knew the Zeklos's to be.

So, by saying that Jesse owed him more money than what he actually did. Jesse's kneejerk reaction was to correct the so-called mistake. And by doing so, he had just publicly admitted to owing Abe four million dollars instead of the stated five million dollars.

But the damage was done now and now the Zeklos's had absolutely no choice, no recourse. But to pay the debt, in full, within the time frame of when Abe demanded that it be paid. Unless, of course, they wanted Jesse to go to prison until the debt has either been paid in full. Or until Abe decided that Jesse had served an adequate term of incarcerations to equal to that of the owed debt. And the payment must be made in front of at least six witnesses, and those witnesses cannot be a part of the 'Zeklos clan' in any way, not even by arranged marriage or even by friendship.

As I quickly glanced over at Abe, I saw him smile. He knew exactly what he had done, and he had done it this way intentionally because he knew exactly what would happen, had he not.

I also saw James Zeklos close his eyes and shake his head in anger and frustration just as soon as Jesse spoke up in his own defense of the actual amount of the debt owed. James was extremely pissed off because Jesse had just admitted to the debt publicly.

"Well, now that the debt has been publicly acknowledged and admitted to. The funds are to be here, in cash as was demanded by the individual who is owed, at or before the next twelve hours are over. Otherwise, if the debt is attempted to be reneged upon, the individual who owes the debt will be sentenced to Tarasov for grand larceny, given the amount of money that is owed. And that person will remain there until the individual who is owed, is satisfied that the person who owes them has served enough years to wipe the debt clean. And with the debt being such a substantial amount, four million dollars, then I would imagine that the individual who is owed such a massive debt. Will insist that the individual who owes them such a massive amount as that will spend the rest of their life in Tarasov. Without being able to pay someone else to do their time for them. Especially considering the fact that the person who owes the money has so badly mistreated and tried to compel and rape the person who is owed's own daughter and one and only child."

James looked at Jesse like he wanted to knock the crap out of him for daring to admitting to owing someone, anyone, that kind of money in public. Especially Abe. He even took a few steps toward Jesse.

"If you lay one single solitary, disgusting, and vulgar finger on him and you will have to deal with me. And I really don't think that someone like you truly wants to take on such a monumental task." Rose said as she stared down James Zeklos.

"I don't put up with abusers regardless of who they are. I like sexual abusers and predators even worse, but abusers of any kind make me furious and sick. So, do not push me Zeklos. I may despise and hate your son's guts. But I will kill you before I stand here and allow you to abuse him, in front of me in any way, ever."

"And I agree with my future wife. I hate and despise abusers of every kind, but sexual abusers, I hold a special kind of hate for them. But as lyubov' moya just said, I will kill you right where you stand. Long before I allow you to hurt either of them in any way Zeklos. And it will be best for your own well being, that you don't ever forget that." My wonderful, caring, independent, protective, and strong nephew told James Zeklos in no uncertain terms. He left James Zeklos with absolutely no room to doubt his nor Rose's statements of facts.
