Dipper's POV
After Jace had vanished Bree had begun looking around confused and fell onto the ground. I was still tied up to the tree. I angrily struggled against the ropes.
"Mabel!" I screamed, but she was unmoving. "MABEL PLEASE!!!" I felt tears stinging the back of my eyes. I saw her body twitch and hope shot through me. "Mabel? Mabel? Are you ok?" I asked hungrily.
"Dipper..." I heard her voice come out quietly.
"Mabel! It's me! Jace is dead! Please get up!" I was begging now.
Mabel got up slowly and rubbed her head. She had a cut along her arm and a bruise on her forehead. She looked up tiredly, but when she saw me she seemed to wake up and ran over to me. She took my pocket knife out and cut the ropes so I was free. I immediately hugged her tightly.
"I'm so glad you're ok. Never do that again." I said in angry love. I couldn't loose my sister. I couldn't loose my sister... I pulled away from Mabel and ran over to Bree. She was still alive, she was probably drained for using her demon powers. I could see her chest rising and falling slowly. I went to pick her up with Mabel when:
"I can do it." It was Carson. He had a long cut down his cheek and he was limping ever so slightly. He picked Bree up gingerly and held her up. "Take us to your home." He ordered.
I felt my cheeks flame up with jealousy and anger, but I showed him anyway. I lead him out of the forest and to the Mystery Shack. I silently thanked God that Stan wasn't sitting in the living room watching TV, so we were able to sneak up stairs.
Carson didn't seem to want to speak with us. He was tall, almost about Bree's height and his had thick dark-brown hair that seemed to match his personality. His green eyes were far away and haunted and he didn't say a word as he laid her on the floor carefully.
"So you're the guy who brought Bree here?" I finally said after the long silence.
Carson didn't look up at me. "I guess you could say that." His voice was lower than mine and more hollow.
I clasped my hands together. "Why are you here?" I asked.
"I knew she was here in the human world. I was the one who set her free. She escape Bill's shield that he had put around her. It was quite weak though since he can't perform spells in reality. Once she escaped I began to track her down."
"Why?" I asked as jealousy nagged at me.
He then looked up at me, his green eyes as hard as flint. "Because she saved me." His voice was tart. Carson looked back down at Bree. "She's fine, she just needs to rest." He said. "I'll take her back with me and you can go on about your lives."
"What?" Mabel and I chorused.
"No." I said sternly. "She's staying with us, in fact, at the end of the summer she's coming to California with us."
Carson shook his head. "I don't think so. You don't know all the dangers of Dream Demons, obviously. I'll help her be human without ending up like Jace."
"NO!" Mabel said suddenly. "She barely knows you! She wants to stay with us!"
Carson sighed angrily. "Fine. But it's her choice when she wakes up." Carson walked over to my bed, sat down on it and pulled out a journal. At first I almost fainted, for I had mistaken it for being one of the author's journals, but it was just a normal, leather bound journal. He took out a thin black pen and began writing in it.
"What's that?" I asked.
He moaned. "Do you always ask this many questions?"
I glared at him. Bree would definitely not want to be staying with this guy.
