Chapter 37

Bree's POV

It had been two days since I had made that decision to stay in Gravity Falls. I couldn't bear to see the looks on Mabel and Dipper's faces when I get to tell them. They were in their room, packing up. Dipper didn't smile at all. He looked depressed and Mabel wasn't smiling either. She stuffed all of her sweaters into her suit case wordlessly.

I watched them pack up at Carson wrote in his little journal. Once Dipper had finished he looked up at me, but he couldn't even fake a smile for me. He was going to miss it here. Mabel looked over at her bed, then the window and then the roof.

"I can't believe the end of the summer is already here..." Her voice trailed off.

Dipper looked towards her. "I know..." He dragged the suitcase over the ground wordlessly and down the stairs. Mabel followed in the same manner. I looked up at Carson and he nodded. I had to tell them before they left.

I ran down stairs after them to see them hugging their Gruncle Stan. Stan looked genuinely sad as he hugged them tightly. I saw a tear run down Mabel's face. It was going to break their hearts that I was staying as well. Stan handed them their tickets.

"Bye kids..." He whispered as Mabel and Dipper walked out to go to the bus. I quickly ran up.

"Guys!" I called out.

They both turned around. "Are you ready?" They asked.

I bit my lip. "A-actually...I-I-" I broke off as Dipper's face paled. "I'm not coming..."

"What?!" Dipper exclaimed. "Why not?! YOU CANT JUST STAY!" He cried.

"I-I'm sorry! But, I've chosen!" I heard my voice crack.

"But I thought that-"

"Dipper..." I interrupted him. "I-I'm with Carson." I braced myself for hurtful words. Instead, flaring pain erupted in my cheek as a fist rammed my face. I stumbled back and looked up in shock at Dipper but gasped as I realized it was Mabel who had punched me.  Mabel was furious.

"How could you?!" She screamed.

"Why did you lie to me?!" Dipper shouted.

"I'm SORRY! I don't know why I lied!! I couldn't- I'm sorry!" I dropped to my knees. I felt a presence behind me and realized that Carson had come up. "No, Carson, get out of here."

Dipper's face was red with rage. "Why would you do this?" He spoke to Carson.

Carson remained silent. Mabel suddenly screamed and leapt at him. She brought Carson to the ground and tried to punch him. She got one blow to the face before Carson threw her off. She tried to scramble to her feet, but Carson grabbed her sweater and lifted her off the ground. She screamed and swung her feet and fists around wildly.

"You ruined EVERYTHING!" She screeched.

Carson was still silent as he flung her at Dipper. Dipper caught her and stumbled back. "You jerk!" He said coldly.

Carson whipped around and grabbed my hand. "Come on, let's go."

"No, not yet." I spat. I got up and ran to them. Dipper glared at me with fiery daggers. "Dipper...I'm sorry...I hope you and Mabel have a good life in California. I'm so sorry."

Dipper didn't meet my gaze. "You live here you die here." He said muttered.

I drew away. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked tartly.

"It means stay here forever. You want to stay here, fine, you'll never leave." He helped Mabel up and they both walked over to the bus.

"Wait! Dipper! Please! You must know I still am your friend." I cried out.

He paused and I saw tears shining in his eyes. "You're no friend of mine." He turned back  around and sulked off to the bus.

Carson put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry about this." He whispered.

I leaned up against him as I wiped away my tears.  "Don't be...It's my fault."

Dipper's POV

I hoped onto the bus as I held back the tears. I sat by the window and looked out of it. Bree was standing next to Carson and was staring at me. She mouthed the words I'll miss you. I frowned at her and glared at Carson. I didn't know how I'd cope back at home. I slouched against the window as the bus started back up so it could leave. I glanced at her quickly and she lifted up a hand and waved good bye. She mouthed a word I'd never forget. Forever.

I willed myself to mouth it back as the bus pulled away and we drove away from Gravity Falls.
