Dipper's POV
It was about seven in the morning when Mabel and I boarded the plane to fly back to California. We had a guide that helped us through everything and made sure we were safe and didn't get lost. She sat across the isle from us while I got the window seat, because Mabel insisted since she got it on the flight to Oregon.
I rested my chin on the slight protruding edge of the airplane window as it rumbled and slowly drove across the road to it's take off point. Mabel loved flying while me on the other hand was too obsessed with the fact that there could be a terrorist attack any second.
"Hey Dip, you ok?" Mabel asked as the plane slowly made its way across the runway.
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" She persisted.
"Yes." I set my jaw as the plane started to go faster. They would be taking off soon...
"Do you need your-"
"Mabel!" I interrupted her before she could finish. "I'm fine! If we want to come back to Gravity Falls, I have to get used to flying.
I heard a gasp from behind me and a little head popped up over the seat. It was a kid, maybe ten years old, he had bright blonde hair that went down to his ears and curious blue eyes. "Gravity Falls! I've studied all 'bout that place!" He seemed extremely excited.
I raised an eyebrow at the kid. "Really?"
"Really! How there's many many strange occurrences and all these strange anomalies! It's so cool!" He was now excitedly trying to climb over the seat.
"Did you get to visit Gravity Falls while you were in Oregon?" Mabel asked kindly.
"Well, no...we went to Portland." He rested his chin on the back of our chairs. I wasn't even noticing the plane taking off now.
"Well...maybe you will be able to go one day. It's definitely strange." Mabel smiled brightly.
I silently touched the journal in my vest, but then thought better of it. This was a little kid, not a responsible adult. Who knows what he'll do if I show him a journal full of weird and terrifying creatures.
"What's your name?" I asked, now comfortable with the strange kid.
He smiled brightly at me. "The name's Bill!" He stuck out his hand and I recoiled away from it.
Mabel looked at me horrified as I fixed my terrified gaze upon his tiny hand.
Bill's smile vanished. "W-what's wrong?"
I pressed myself against the seat in front of me. "I-I-"
"He's just slightly troubled after- well, things happened." Mabel stammered. "It's fine, though." Mabel stuck out her hand to shake it back, but I leapt for her hand and slammed it away from the little boy's.
"Mabel! Don't! It could be him in disguise!" I warned her.
Mabel scoffed as she tried to push me away from her. "Dipper! It's not! It's just a little boy!"
My fearful gaze trailed from Mabel to Bill. "I-um..." I leaned away from Mabel. "Where's your mother?" I asked.
"She's not here, I went to go visit my cousins for the month." Bill didn't have that cheerful light to him any longer.
I nodded skeptically. "Uh- ok...um, we-we need to just," I slid down my seat and slouched against it. ",yeah..."
Mabel put a hand on my arm in sympathy. Just, because I was leaving Gravity Falls didn't mean the events wouldn't haunt me.
Bree's POV
Carson had been rather cheerful when we were walking. He told me how he was going to take me to where he had lived before he had come to find me. He said it was like a mansion and it had two floors. He explained how the backyard was beautiful with grass and a huge pool. Carson told me how he would always crawl on to the roof and just stare at the sky, because it had never seemed to open.
"How did you get a mansion?" I asked baffled.
"I didn't. It's up for grabs so I just, you know, snuck in and they have never noticed."
"Never?" I asked doubtfully.
"Never." He smiled and I forced a smile back. "Trust me," he said, "you are gonna love it here."
"How far is it?" I asked.
Carson sighed. "It's pretty far...but we'll be at the edge of Gravity Falls, not in a different city or whatever."
I sighed and looked at the ground.
Carson snuck a glance at me before looking straight ahead again. How was I going to keep up with this? A new guy, a new place, a new house, new everything! For some reason, that dirty old shack seemed for welcoming than the mansion that lye up ahead for me.
