Elle: *walks into the room holding an envelope up* Hey, I think we missed a dare. I don't now how this even got hidden in the storage room while I was looking for some stuff.
Athena: *sitting on the couch, working on some scrolls* What does it say?
Elle: TheBookObssessedGirl wants you to tell Odysseus about your feelings for him.
Athena: *pauses, blinks, and stares at her* I... beg your pardon?
Elle: Oh, this is gonna be good.
Hermes: Hey. I've got your breakfast— *walks into the room with a plate of pancakes but slows down when he sees Athena and Elle*
Athena: *glaring at Elle* Absolutely not. That's in the past, and he's dead!
Elle: *smirks* And you swore to finish your dares. Now go over to the Underworld and do it.
Hermes: *sits beside Athena in confusion* Do what?
Elle: *glances at him and smirks, waving the letter* This dare.
Hermes: *recognizes it and immediately snatches the letter, ripping it into pieces* What dare? I don't know what dare you're talking about. Ena doesn't have to do any dare, right, babe?
Athena: *raises an eyebrow at him with amusement*
Elle: *stares at him and squints* Hermes, were you the one that hid that letter?
Hermes: *shrugs* I told you. I don't know what letter you're talking about. Definitely not anything about bringing the past up and confessing her love for someone else when she's already for a perfectly good boyfriend here.
Athena: *watches him in amusement* You're jealous.
Hermes: *gets defensive, stammering* I-no! I'm not! Just...
Athena: Jealous.
Hermes: *sighs and mutters* I just... I didn't like the idea, okay? He liked you and you liked him. He was your hero for years too. I'm just...
Athena: *chuckles* Jealous.
Hermes: *groans* If he tries anything...
*later*
Athena: For gods' sakes, Hermes. Give him some space.
Hermes: *standing in front of Odysseus and Athena, sizing him up* I don't know. I'm perfectly good where I am.
Athena: Hermes.
Hermes: *sighs dramatically and steps away, but not breaking eye contact with Odysseus*
Odysseus: Uhm... may I ask what this is about?
Athena: *takes a deep breath* You know what, I'm just gonna go straight for it. Odysseus, I had feelings for you before.
Odysseus: *stares at her as his jaw slowly drops*
Hermes: Emphasis on had, buddy. Past tense.
Odysseus: *gapes at them*
Hermes and Athena: *glance at each other*
Odysseus: *still not sayiny anything*
Hermes: Well? Aren't you gonna say anything?
Odysseus: I-I— My lady—
Hermes: Listen here. An Olympian goddess just confessed that she had feelings for you before and you're just— what? Gaping like a fish? Blubbering? What about a thanks or an "it's an honor," huh? You're kinda rude for a king, aren't you?
Odysseus: *manages an apology and then stammers his words out* I— well, I'm flattered, Lady Athena. Truly. This is... wow. I mean, I've always respected you deeply. And I must admit that during my journey, I too may have—
Hermes: *raises an eyebrow* Didn't you already have a wife back then?
Odysseus: Yes, well—
Hermes: Listen, I get it. She's Athena. She's wise and brilliant and beautiful. Who wouldn't be attracted, right?
Odysseus: But—
Hermes: See, here's the thing. Right now, she's also unavailable. Taken. Very taken.
Odysseus: *freezes* What?
Hermes: And word of advice? Her boyfriend doesn't like the idea of you trying to make a dramatic confession back at her.
Odysseus: *stares with wide eyes* Are you—You? You're... dating her—
Hermes: What's that supposed to mean? *takes a step forward*
Odysseus: *hastily steps back* I mean—uhm! I am so sorry—
Hermes: *smirks and leans down* Run along now. Athena might have more patience to spare for you, but I'm not as gracious.
Odysseus: *scampers off, cheeks red with embarrassment*
Athena: *tugs his arm* Honestly, Hermes.
Hermes: What?
Athena: *gives him an exasperated look*
Hermes: I'm just making sure to place some boundaries. Your hero over there clearly has a wandering eye.
Athena: Doesn't mean you had to intimidate him endlessly. If he wasn't already dead, he would've keeled over from nerves.
Hermes: *mumbles* He's a loser anyways.
Athena: You are unbelievable.
