80's Wish

Chapter 8

"Hey AJ, you seen Lowe around anywhere?" I look up from my coffee to see Francis towering over me. "Yeah i-uh think he went into hair and make-up and few minutes ago." Francis rolled his eyes and stormed off mumbling something about being late.

I stared back down at my coffee thinking about the kiss that Matt and I shared. He hasn't spoken to me since and i can tell he has been trying his best to avoid me. If i walk into the room he disappears, if i say hey he replies with a nod or just ignores me and when all of us go out for dinner or something he stays as far away from me as possible. It was really starting to piss me off and i wanted to know why for the past week he had been ignoring me.

"Hey Autumn why so down?" I looked up to see Rob smiling down at me adorned in full costume and make up and boy did he look gorgeous. I avoid his question not wanting to answer it scared he might judge me or think I'm just over reacting. "Ahh Francis wants to see you and he doesn't seem to happy either so I'd go now before he gets even grumpier." Rob just shakes his head. "Don't try to change the subject AJ. What's the matter?" He took my hand in his and looked me straight in the eyes i sigh and try not to give in by looking away. "You know you can tell me anything AJ. You're my friend." I look him back in the eyes and give in knowing how badly this could end but i needed to tell someone, get another opinion or just for someone to tell me i wasn't over reacting.

"Matt kissed me last week after a shoot and well i thought it was good but obviously it wasn't because he hasn't talked to me since and has been trying his best to avoid me. I know I'm probably just over reactin' or somethin' but i don't know." For a split moment Rob has an unreadable expression but he quickly covers it with a smile. 

"Hey don't worry about him. If he is avoiding you instead of asking you out then it's his loss. Trust me...I'm a guy i know these things." I manage a small half smile "are you sure?" "Positive. Why don't i take you out for pizza tonight? Get your mind off it?" I shake my head "Are you asking me out on a date?" He smirks and looks up at me from our hands "Maybe." Again i shake my head "I don't think that'd be such a great idea Rob." He rolls his eyes and chuckles "Come on AJ if you get bored just say the word and i will take you back to the motel BUT if you have fun and last the whole night i get to kiss you at then end of the date." I sit there to think about it for a moment. Should i really go on a date with Rob? It could just make things messy...i mean i thought i liked Matt. Do i like Rob to?

"What the hell?...Sure." he grins "great i'll meet you here at 6." I smile and nod indicating yes. I was still really unsure of this. Should i really be going out on a date with Rob? Especially with what is going on with Matt? I probably should have sorted things out with Matt first but the problem with that theory is he isn't speaking to me so even if i tried he'd probably just ignore me.

After finishing my coffee i hear some yelling coming from the set. I walk over to see what it was as my curiosity got the better of me. I see Francis yelling at Rob for being late; Rob apologises but Francis just rubs his temples and turns to me. "I'm already on my way Francis." Knowing he was about to ask me to get him a coffee. He mumbled thanks and then turned to Susie and started pestering her i could tell she was already bored by the roll of her eyes.

"Francis!" I call and hand him his coffee he does nothing to acknowledge it but goes back to grumbling. I get lost in my thought sometimes when i think about how less then 2 months ago i was such a fan of Francis Ford Coppola and i never thought i would ever get to keet him. Now I'm working for him and sometimes I can't stand to be near him.

I walk over to Susie who is leaning against a metal frame. She looked gorgeous the setting sun was shining on her at all the right places, her eyes were glistening and her hair red hair shining to make it look like those models off ads back in 2015.
