80's Wish

Chapter 4

"So what brings you to Tulsa? From what I can see there's nothing really here." Emilio smiles as he leans against the back wall of the elevator. I bite my lip nervously what was I doing here? What was 1980's me doing here before 2015 me showed up and pushed 1980's me out of the picture?

Eventually I just said the first thing I could come up with "Um just passing through." He nods and the doors ding open I try to ignore the nerves building up in my stomach. I took a deep breath and then followed Emilio into the lobby where 6 other guys stood and I recognised all 6 of them Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, C.Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio and the one and only Matt Dillon who I had had a crush on since I was 14.

Like seriously I don't think anyone could understand how much strength it took not to start fangirling and asking for autographs and telling them how much I loved them in each and every movie they were in and they were all a lot more attractive in person than on TV!

"Hey guys!" Emilio bellows as he approaches the group of teen stars. A collective of greetings were heard in response to Emilio's but then all eyes landed on me and my nervousness raised through the roof. "Oh hey it's AJ. I didn't know you guys knew each other." Rob Lowe Looks towards me and Emilio smiling. "We don't we're neighbours." I say feebly and fiddle with my hands trying to take my mind off the nerves.

"Oh right AJ this is Matt, Patrick, Tommy, Tom, Ralph and well apparently you already met Rob." I smile at them all and say hello again. 

"So Emilio is this your new chick?" Tom asks eyeing me up and down and I couldn't help blush a little even though the way he was eyeing me was demeaning. I shake my head "No. We are just neighbours." I reassure putting my hands up as if in surrender and they chuckle.

"So should we go then?" Patrick asks we all nod and follow him out the double doors.

 "So how did you guys all meet?" I ask out of nowhere just trying to start conversation as we start walking towards the restaurant. "We're all working on this movie called The Outsiders." Rob answers shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. Oh god why did I ask that? How do I play this off now?

"Oh right I love that book. I heard they were making a movie about it." They look at me almost in awe. "What?" I chuckle. "Most chicks would be crawling all over us, screaming and asking for autographs. It's like you don't even know who we are." Matt scoffs 

"Please! I know who you are. You're Matt Dillon you were chosen to film Tex another S.E Hinton novel turned movie and you were also Richie in Over the Edge. But unlike other girls I respect y'all enough to treat you like human beings."

 "Emilio this one's a keeper." I playfully hit Ralph's shoulder "Dude for the last time we are not together!" he laughs and rolls his eyes.

We eventually reach the restaurant it was a small little Italian place with a window at the front and their name printed across it in bold red letters.

 "So you guys been here before?" I ask as I sit down at the table in between Tommy and Patrick and across from Matt. "Nope Francis, our director recommended it. He wants us to bond more so our friendship is more believable in the movie." Patrick answers my question I nod and then take a sip of my coke.

"So AJ tell us about yourself all we know is you're Emilio's neighbour." Tom asked raising one eyebrow and looking at the menu. "Well um not much to tell really. I'm 19 and from San Francisco." Matt rolls his eyes and sighs "Wow so interesting...what is your favourite food?" 

"Well obviously pizza." I chuckle gesturing to the restaurant around us.

"Good thing we came to an Italian restaurant then." Tommy says but he was really quiet.

"Ok how about this? I don't know you guys and you don't really know me and Francis wanted you to bond more so let's play a game of truth." all the guys seem to agree causing a row of murmurs. 

"Ok um what is everyone's favourite colour?" I ask saying the first thing that popped into my mind. "mine's purple." I look at Tommy and he shrugs "Blue."

Cruise: Green

Emilio: I don't know red i suppose.

Matt: grey or blue

Ralph: red

Rob: Any ocean hued color.

"Woah we got a fancy pants here." Matt snickered throwing his hands up in the air. "Shut up man." Rob laughed back. 

"Well my favourite is blue or black." Patrick pipes up trying to take us back on track.

 "Ok so Patrick your turn to think of a question." We sit there for ages just playing the game eating and laughing.

 "So AJ what do you want to be?" I don't even think about it before I answer. "Actress or singer...cliché I know. But I don't know I get such a rush out of performing." 

"Yep ok she is definitely one of us!" Tom cheers and slings his arm over my shoulder was we walk home.

I didn't even know what to say...the hottest guys from the 80's just accepted me into their group! I don't know how I am still standing right now!

"Well I am exhausted! I'm going to bed guys...thanks for tonight though it's been fun." I say as we reach our corridor. 

Turns out we were all staying in the same level Tommy and Rob were staying in the same room, Matt and Ralph in one and Tom and Emilio in the one next to me. 

Patrick was by himself. "Wait a second so that means you, Emilio and I are neighbours....why didn't you say something before?" "Didn't seem important at the time." Tom shrugs and I reply with a shrug.

"Well I will see you guys later." I smile but before I can walk into my room Emilio grabs me from behind and twirls me around.

 "What the hell was that?" I practically yell in his face.

 "Woah calm down!" I chuckle slightly "Sorry you just surprised me." "Yeah his face has that effect on people." Tom smirks and roughs up Emilio's hair I laugh "Goodnight boys!"
