I looked toward the lights and raced toward it. I ran past the headstones, leaving Perry and Mr. Rush far behind. I just had to get down there. The moon didn't offer much light but the flickering and rapid blinking was another help. It looked like a huge storm was forming. I knew something like this was bound to happen when the figures started acting weird. If Damon was down there, it was all my fault.

My lungs burned as I pushed forward. I know I wouldn't stop until I've reached him. A part of me believed him all along but my mind couldn't accept it. Now, it did. The wind picked up dramatically. I looked                                                                         around to see Perry and Mr. Rush still following.

"NO! Don't come down here!" I called to them.

Lightening began and I shuddered. Something was coming.

"This isn't good!" Mr. Rush shouted. "There's supposed to be order!"

Perry who was next to Mr. Rush  panting, gave a bewildered look.

"He's loosing it," she said.

I shook my head and made sure they stayed there. I bounded over the last few stones and skid down a slope. I leaned against a tall tree, tired, hot, sticky with sweat, fear ran through me. And then I saw him between the trees. He was standing there staring up at the sky, his face rid of any emotion. I pushed myself off the tree and ran to him.

"Athena!" he shouted when he spotted me. "What are you doing here?" he asked sounding horrified.

It's my fault, I believe you. I believe our story. Forgive me for leaving. I wanted to tell him but no words would come out. I buried my face in his shoulder and while the truth still was scary, he made me feel safe.

"You picked a hell of a time to come back," he said. He kept looking up at the sky. His face etched with worry.

"How can you love me?" I asked finally breaking.

"What?" he asked confused.

"You're an angel, Damon. How can you love me? I'm just me and you're this beautiful thing, " I rambled on.

"I-" he began but was cut off at the howling of wind. He shielded my body with his  as the wind almost knocked me over. Lightening struck a tree and it went up in flames.

"Oh my god! I have to stop this!" I yelled.

"Hey!" he said stroking my cheek. " You don't have to do anything. It's not your fault. Why would you ever think it was your fault?"

"Because, all my life I've seen these figures."

"I know."

"How can you say it's not my fault when its my life and me that's doing this?" I asked him.

He kissed my head. "They aren't because of you. They are called followers. They seem scary but they aren't. They are like the slaves for demons. They are here because of the war."

"What war?" I asked.

"The big one, between good and evil."

"Our Athena has been doing her homework," I turned towards the voice. Mr. Rush was standing there holding the book.

"You've been reading it?" Damon asked looking down at me.

I just wrapped by hands around his neck and pulled his face to me and as his lips met mine the whole storm disappeared.

I knew he meant it when he said it wasn't my fault. That I had nothing to do with the followers. And the longer we kissed, my eyes opened. I could feel the past. I could feel the love we shared. Even though I couldn't remember any of it I knew it was there in the back of my mind. The followers up in the sky began racing down toward us.
