Later that evening I was able to make a phone call. I had no one else to call besides my parents. I was currently sitting on a bench outside the office hall waiting for my mother to pick up. I winced when I made a mistake in moving too quick. My ribs were bruised but nothing major happened. I will not be mentioning this to my parents. Last thing they needed to think was that I was hurting myself on purpose. Plus I was trying hard to push what happened earlier out of my mind. It felt so good to finally be able to have some type of communication out of this place.

"Hello?" My mothers voice answered.

"Mom!" I said as tears sprang to my eyes.

"Oh sweetie!! I missed you! How's Fallen? Are the kids nice? Have you made any friends? Please tell me there's no boys after you," said ran on and on. Of course she would bring up boys.

"Mom, one question at a time. It's okay here, the kids are all unique you could say. I've met some cool people and no there's no boys," I lied about the boy part.

"That's great hunny. How's the food?"

"Its not even edible. How have you been? I hope my rooms the same," I joked.

"Well your dad wanted a new office, so we put all your stuff in his old one and now he has your old room. I hope you don't mind hunny," she said sounding as if I really had a choice.

"It's fine mom. Where's dad?" I asked changing the subject again.

"He's at work. He got called in late. I saw Jane the other day. Poor girl looked like she seen better days," she told me.

She would bring up Jane. Jane was one of my close friends back at Westfield. She's the one who got me and Luke together. After the accident, she wouldn't even acknowledge my presence.

"Was Rick with her?"

"No. She just told me to tell you hi and ran off to her car," my mother said.

"Well--," I was cut off by the sound of footsteps. I looked down the hall and seen Cassie making her way to me.

She was walking with a smirk on her face and swinging a lanyard around. I glared at her hoping she'll turn around and leave me alone. But of course fate had other things in mind.

"It's my turn," she said.

"My time isn't up," I growled looking at the clock. I still had five minutes left.

"Not my problem. I signed up for six-thirty. They might have mixed up the times," she said smiling.

"Hunny, you still there?" I heard my moms voice yelling through the speaker.

"Yeah mom, I'm here. Just give me a second," I told her then leaned the phone against my shoulder.

"Oh is that mommy dearest?" Cassie said yanking the phone from my hand.

"Hello Mr.s Richards. I'm Cassie. Athena's close friend here." She said smiling wickedly at me.

"You're not my friend. Give me back the phone Cassie," I told her standing up so I can be eye level with her.

"Thank you, I'll keep very close eye on her. I wouldn't want anything to happen to sweet Athena. Of course...you're very welcome Mrs. Richards....okay....bye to you to. Yes I'll tell her for you," said continued talking to my mother as if we were the closest friends.
