The people meant to be in your life will always gravitate back to you, no matter how far they wander.

I walked back to the dorm rooms and looked for my number. After grabbing my bag from the front office, I had asked what room Arya was in. Apparently, she was a few rooms down. The walls in the hall at night reminded me of a dusty blackboard. Everything was quiet making my foot steps oddly loud.
Every closed door however had its own art. I guess the students here got very creative with the little freedom they were given. I found my room and opened the door. It was bare. The bed had a wooden frame, the sheets were white and the pillow and blanket were black. There was a desk in the far corner with a holey metal chair. I'd probably spend hours in that chair trying to catch up in classes. To my right away from the window and closer to the door was a dresser and a lamp. I walked in and slammed the door shut earning a pounding sound from my neighbor.
Tossing my bag onto my bed I tried to unpack. But I got as far as unzipping it then I threw myself on the bed. It's been one day and I already felt alone. I already had an enemy but also made some friends. Staring at the ceiling, I tried to remember if there was anything I'd done to make Damon have so much hate towards me. Then my mind drifted off to the last moments with my parents and soon enough I felt myself fall into the blackness.
Not even ten minutes later a knock woke me from my slumber. I got up and swung the door open ready to yell at whoever was knocking at this time of night. However, there was no one there but a sticky note on my door. Ripping it off, I glanced down the hall way but saw no one.
My darling Athena.
If you're worried about me, good that means we'll be best of friends. If not, then screw you too. Ha! Just kidding chick. Sorry I haven't been able to hang, after the lil incident I had to have a talk with the dean.If you never get this note then, that means...you're a dead man Jeremy!!!
Well, let's do a rain check! Catch ya mañana!
I walked out my room and made my way towards her room. Once I made it to her door, I admired her work. Bumper stickers and odds and ends were all over it. 'Fuck off' is in hot glittery pink letters and 'no turds allowed' was right under.
"Wats up?" I heard a deep voice ask.
Turning around to the other side of the hall two doors down was Jeremy sticking his head out his door.
"Uhh, just looking around. Might go to the library." I said ,embarrased, making my way to what I thought would be the library.
"Athena," he said.
"Yeah?" I said stopping.
"It's that way," he pointed to the opposite way, smirking at me.
"Oh, yeah, I knew that." I said and scurried away before I could make more of a fool of myself.
Quickening my pace I looked around for any sign of a library. After a few minutes I came across two glass doors and beyond them were aisles of books. Walking in I was greeted by the librarian.
"Hello dear, how can I help you?" She asked. She appeared to be in her late thirties.
"I'm just going to look around. Need something to clear my mind," I answered her.
"Of course, if you need anything I'm here. My names Mrs. Robinson," she smiled sweetly at me then turned her attention back to the computer.
Walking into the rows of books, my mind traveled back to Damon and Connor. One showed complete interest in me while the other wouldn't even look my way. They were both good looking. I couldn't believe this. It was my first day and I already was contemplating about two guys?! Ugh! I was so caught up in my thoughts I barely noticed a person sitting in the lounge area. He was leaning against the arm rest of the couch and his feet were sprawled out taking the rest of it. I got a sense of dejavu. Like I seen him like this before. Out of no where I heard a faint cry. Turning around I spotted a black figure lurking by the darkened row of books.
My heart rate picked up. My palms became sweaty. No. Not here. Why now? I tried to even out my breathing before I went into an anxiety attack. I took a few steps back and then I was falling. I landed on my ass with a thud.
"Ouch!" I exclaimed because that actually did hurt.
"What are you doing here?" A deep sexy voice asked me.
"Uhm," I mumbled scrambling to my feet," I came here to clear my mind."
He raised his eyebrows at me,"How's that working out?"
"Not so well," I mumbled again.
Glancing behind my back, I looked for the figure but it was gone. I relaxed a bit and turned back to Damon. He was looking past me as if he saw something too. Then his grey eyes made their way back to me. Once on me they turned into small slits.
"Well, are you going to continue on your way?" He growled out.
"Yeah, yes. I am." I stuttered caught off guard by his hostility.
I started walking back the way I came, when I spotted another figure. Stopping in my tracks, I lingered a bit.
"Keep walking," he said.
The figure was creeping it's way towards me and I started panicking again. I didn't bother trying to argue with Damon. I needed to relax. I closed my eyes and tried to even my breathing. But my hands started to shake. I felt the cold chills go up my back as I heard more cries. A choked sob escaped my mouth and I clamped a hand over it.
"Athena?" He asked too sincerely.
"Yeah, I'm going. Just....just give me a minute," I snapped not meaning too.
I opened my eyes but the shadow was just standing there. Right in front of me. Trying not to make him think I was insane I turned back around and faked a smile. His eyes held worry in them and he was sitting up this time his book closed in his lap. He scrunched up his eyebrows trying to read through my facade.
I bit my inner tongue, a habit I always had when I was scared. It happened so fast. In an instant Damon went from the couch to standing in front of me. His warm long fingers ran across my jaw.
"I hate when you do that, it drives me insane," he sighed.
Wait, what? How did he know I had this habit? I never did it infront of him. Just then another dark figure slid in through the window behind him. My eyes widen making him turn around to see what it was looking at. He slowly turned back to me. Questions in his eyes. Those grey eyes. He gripped my hand and I felt jolts of warmth flow up my arm into me. Damon snapped his hand away as if I burned him. And just like they showed up, the figures disappeared.
I let out a breath I was holding and my whole body sagged with relief.
"Well, if you're not leaving, I am," and just like that his cold tone was back.
He gathered his stuff and stormed past me bumping my shoulder. Another shock went up and he too stopped. We both looked at eachother, and for a second I thought he would turn to me and hug me. But no. Instead he turned back and ran off as if he couldn't get away fast enough.
