Chapter 3: Moving In

It was all started because my older brother moved back in, and his old room was now the study. My parents told me that I needed to leave, so he could have a room. To be honest, I was happier to move than live in the same house as my parents and my brother. My brother was a violent guy, and I’d never had a single memory of ever liking him. It took me only a day to pack all of my things and to clear that room. I was ready to go, and I grabbed my phone and dialed my favourite number. I already asked Seung Hyun if it was alright for me to stay with him, and he’d been totally up for it. About fifteen minutes after I called him, there was a knock on the front door.

“Someone help me with these bags, please,” I yelled out. To my dismay, my brother came to pick them up. I hated the way he looked at me, it really creeped me out. I answered the door, and it was, of course, my superhero. I smiled at him, and stepped out the door. Seung Hyun was glaring at my brother and he quickly took my bags from his hands.

He mumbled, “I’ll take those.” He might have been pissed off that the guy in front of him was the reason my parents were throwing me out, but that’s not what it seemed like. I don’t think he really knew much about my brother or what he was like, but that was the way I preferred it. I didn’t like to talk about it very much anyways, so instead, I took Seung Hyun’s hand.

“Ready, oppa? Let’s go!” I said, smiling. As soon as he smiled back at me, I felt the knot in my stomach untie itself. I was happy in this moment. From that moment on, I’d wake up to his beautiful face every single day of my life. I almost squealed out of excitement just thinking of it that way. As we drove back to his house, he held my hand. To most people it would seem like nothing, but just his hand on mine made me get butterflies.

I decided to ask him, “Oppa, how was your sleep? Did you dream sweetly?” He glanced over at me, smiling.

“Every dream I have is sweet, because I dream of you,” he replied. He was so sweet. I could already feel that I was blushing. He chuckled at me, and I blushed even more. When we arrived at his place, I was surprised to see there were a few other cars in front of his garage as well.

“Are the boys here?” I asked him, sad that I had to share him. He nodded back at me.

“They wanted to officially welcome you into the house,” he said, laughing. That’s nice of them, I thought. We got out of the car, and I had to let go of his hand so that he could take my bags. I would have taken one, but he didn’t let me, he swatted my hands away if I tried. I ran up the stairs to unlock the door, until I realized it must not be locked if there are others in the house. I just opened the door, and let Seung Hyun in first. I saw the other four members standing in the living room.

Laughing, I said, “Hey, guys! What’s up?” I was trying to act like I didn’t know they wanted to welcome me. Ji Yong came over and hugged me.

“Dongsaeng,” he said, “we came to welcome you to our hyung’s place! We’re happy that you two are finally engaged. I bet you can’t wait to have the wedding.” He chuckled at some hint in that sentence. I knew what it was, and so did Seung Hyun, and neither of us laughed. The others did. Seung Hyun hit Ji Yong on the head.

“Don’t talk like that, that’s personal!” he yelled at Ji Yong, frustrated. Seung Hyun left the room to put my things in the bedroom, and was by my side as soon as he was back, wrapping his arms around my waist. Ji Yong cleared his throat and looked a bit awkward.

“I, um, invited my girlfriend, So Young over, too. Is that.. Okay?” he asked Seung Hyun, looking ashamed that he didn’t even ask. There was a knock at the door, and the person let themselves in. I think that was Ji Yong’s girlfriend. He should pick women who wait for someone to open the door.

She came over and said, “Hey, I’m So Young! Sorry I just let myself in, I hope it’s alright!” I looked at her. She was just Ji Yong’s type, tall, skinny, and showed off a bit too much skin. I felt satisfied that Seung Hyun didn’t even take a second glance at her, but instead looked at me. He also didn’t seem too happy that there was a strange woman in his house, but he didn’t say anything. The others continued to welcome me, and I was very aware that So Young was looking me up and down. When I was coming out of the bathroom about an hour later, she stopped me and pushed me back in the bathroom and closed the door.

“Who do you think you are? Seung Hyun should be mine, not yours! Mark my word, I will take him from you,” she growled in my face. I laughed, and pushed her out of my way and went back into the living room. So Young glared at me when she came back into the room, but I didn’t notice. I was too busy resting my head on Seung Hyun’s shoulder. She’d never take him from me, he wouldn’t go for that type of woman. I think their kind are called easy, but I’m not sure.

I was honestly very relieved when everyone left and Seung Hyun and I were alone. He picked me up, and carried me to his room.

“Yoona, it’s your first night with me. It’s special right?” he asked with a joking tone. I smiled, but I took this seriously.

I giggled as I said, “You know, it could be more special. If we broke that promise. I’ve been waiting for four years, oppa. I want you!” He shook his head, grabbed his clothes and went to go shower.

“Can I join you?” I cried after him, laughing. But still, I waited patiently for him to come back. I turned on the television and was watching ‘Heavens Postman’ when he came in.

“Yoona, about before. I’d break the promise in a heartbeat, but the longer we wait, the better it would be, right? Do you see what I’m saying?” he asked me gently. I nodded. He sat down beside me and pulled me into his lap, kissing my cheek.

“Can we plan? I want to just get married, I don’t want to keep waiting, and maybe if we get married now, there won’t be rumours, right?” I asked, I felt like I was just begging. He nodded, silently agreeing with me. I had the best sleep of my night that night, but I knew of one that would be a million times better.
