Chapter 13: Nothing to Regret

It was my 22nd birthday, and I was on top of the world. Seung Hyun and I had a picnic on the beach, and I wanted him to walk on the beach with me.

“Anything for my girl on her birthday,” he replied. I smiled, and took his hand.

“Oppa, is there anything you’ve ever done that you regret?” I asked him, curiously. At first, he was quiet. I waited.

Finally, he replied, “There are many things I regret, one of them was not meeting you sooner. Every day with you is a day I won’t regret.” He put his arms around me, and, bending over, kissed me. He was so romantic.

I looked at him, saying, “I love you.”

Smiling, I added, “And I always will. Don’t forget that, ever.” He smiled at me, taking my hand as we walked along the beach watching the beautiful sunset. That’s when I heard her voice.

“Oppa, look! It’s Seung Hyun and Yoona!” It was So Young’s annoying voice, coming from behind us. What were they doing here? I didn’t think it was a coincidence.

Seung Hyun lowered his voice, telling me, “Yoona, try to pretend like you can’t hear her, keep walking.” I listened. It wasn’t hard, I hated seeing Ji Yong date that piece of trash. Of course, my day didn’t end like I wanted it to. So Young and Ji Yong ran up in front of us.

“Hyung! Dongsaeng! What a coincidence to be at the same place, right?” Ji Yong exclaimed, smiling. Well, at least he’d forgiven me. I was totally getting the death glare from So Young, though. It was really awkward.

‘I don’t think this is just a coincidence’ I thought, my day just got so much worse.

“Ji Yong, it’s... nice to see you, but we’re busy,” Seung Hyun told him firmly.

“With what? Walking?” replied So Young, laughing. Ji Young gently pushed her.

“So Young, it’s Yoona’s birthday, let’s leave them alone. Happy birthday, Yoona! Have a nice night,” he finished, winking. Seung Hyun punched him in the arm, and Ji Yong stopped laughing.

Seung Hyun put his arm around my waist, and we headed home. I was in my happy world again, and I hoped I wouldn’t see So Young for awhile. Happy birthday, Yoona.
