Chapter 10: A Hate Hotter Than Fire

She was there. I’d been right. I was also right about Ji Yong wanting me to keep her company. I hated him so much for asking me to do that. I had to invite her into the bedroom, and ask her what she wanted to do. I couldn’t believe it. How did she react to my forced hospitality?

Smirking, she’d said, “Yoona, you shouldn’t marry people who don’t love you. It’s not right.”

I’d thought right that moment of something to say to her.

“Well, then why do you date people you don’t love? To see others that you do like? Or for a hope that you’ll get lucky?” I laughed at my response, and I knew So Young knew it was true. That’s why she slapped me.

I asked her, “Is that really the best you can do? I wrestled all through school, I could take you down!”

To prove it, I even got into the fighting stance, ready to strike at a moments notice. She didn’t even flinch, until my fist started to fly towards her face. She freaked out. It was hilarious, until Ji Yong came in, of course.

“Yoona! Why did you do that?! That’s so mean!” he screamed at me, I didn’t care. So Young deserved it. I knew one day she’d get revenge, but that was okay. I looked over at Seung Hyun and he was trying so hard not to laugh. I winked at him, and smiled. Ji Yong gave me a dirty look, and I stopped smiling.

“Ji Yong, she doesn’t even like you! She’s after my Seung Hyun! That’s why I don’t like her,” I explained. It was the truth, and he didn’t believe me, even though he’d known me longer.

He glared at me, and said, “Don’t make excuses to hit my girlfriends, we’re leaving.” I rolled my eyes, and watched them leave. It was satisfying to see her nose bleeding like that. I laughed again, and went over to Seung Hyun.

“So? You believe me, right?” I asked him.

He smiled, saying, “Of course, and I never liked her anyways. He’ll come to his senses, don’t worry. Let’s go on a date.” We went to the movies, it was really fun. We hadn’t gone on a date in a very long time, and it made me really happy to be on one tonight. We went home, and I went to climb in bed.

I tried all night to sleep well, but I just couldn’t. Seung Hyun didn’t get into bed until about midnight, and I rolled myself over, into his arms.

“You can’t sleep?” he asked, worried.

“What if I have the nightmare? I don’t want to see it anymore,” I whispered, afraid. Seung Hyun pulled me closer to his chest, and kissed the top of my head.

“If I hold you like this, will you really have bad dreams? My love will always protect you, right?” he replied, smiling.

At first, my sleep was amazing, and it was so good to get a good sleep. However, at some point, my nightmare came back, and I was awake. Before I knew it, Seung Hyun was gently shaking me awake, even though I wasn’t sleeping. I looked at him.

“You look tired still, love,” he told me. I was, so I nodded.

“I know, I didn’t sleep.” I snuggled under the blankets. I fell asleep again, but it wasn’t a satisfying rest.
