Chapter 7: Meeting Fate

“Yoona, why do I have to meet this guy again? I don’t need a boyfriend,” Jae Hwa mumbled, she wasn’t the type who got super happy over seeing someone. I’d told her I was going to introduce her to someone that she’d instantly fall for, and she didn’t believe me.

I sighed, and told her again, “Because then I won’t feel bad if you’re the third wheel. I want to be a Maid of Honour too, you know!” She gave me an annoyed face, and I laughed. I knew she’d fall for Young Bae, he was just her type, if she had one. Tall, muscular, sweet, and he was funny. She’d be thanking me, I know it. I dragged Jae Hwa into the coffee shop, it was our favourite place. It was so cozy, especially on days when the weather was bad. Today, it was just hot and sunny, so it was a relief to feel the air conditioning on our faces. I took her to our favourite table, and we waited for him. Five minutes passed, and he walked into the shop.

“Young Bae! We’re over here. Come join us,” I called over to him, waving. He made his way to our table and sat down. Jae Hwa’s jaw dropped.

Whispering, she said frantically, “You didn’t say he was drop-dead gorgeous! I wasn’t prepared for a Greek god to walk in!” I laughed and I introduced Jae Hwa to Young Bae.

“Jae Hwa, this is Young Bae! Young Bae, this is Jae Hwa, my best friend. You should like her, you two are very similar in many ways,” I said, smirking.

I added on, “The age gap isn’t even bad, right? I did well, I think.” I started to get up, to leave them alone, when Jae Hwa grabbed my sleeve shaking her head. She’d be fine, so I got up and took a very long time to order myself some coffee, watching them talk. They were totally getting along. If I could tell the future, I’d say they’d be getting together pretty soon. I was proud, and I ordered two more coffee’s, and went back over to them. They almost looked disappointed that I’d come back, so I made an excuse.

Trying to keep a serious face, I said, “Well, I should be going. I have to go meet Seung Hyun! See you two later?” They nodded, and I left, heading back for home. It turns out that it was really hard to hide a wedding ring all the time, and the news was all over every magazine in Seoul. I wouldn’t care, but the girls that were obsessed with Seung Hyun were crazy. They were like stalkers! None of them were like So Young, though. She was the worst of them all. I don’t know why she was dating Ji Yong if she liked Seung Hyun. It was so pointless.
