TDWT: Miranda's Way (Episode 4: Anything Yukon Do, I Can Do Better)

Miranda's POV:

It was the middle of the night in Economy Class.

Normally, I'd be one to sleep without a problem. But for some reason, I wasn't tired tonight.

I was pacing around the room, glancing at the sleeping contestants in the room with me.

The ceiling was leaking, my footsteps echoed off the steel flooring and the sound of calm breathing surrounded me.

It's amazing how I could hear all of this through my earbuds, by the way.

I glanced over at my team. Owen was strapped into his harness, gripping it for dear life. Izzy was hanging upside down on the wooden bench beside him. Tyler was laying down with the harness in his fist and Noah fell asleep with a book in his arms. Then, there was Alejandro, who was up against the wall, with his hands supporting his head.

I walked over to him. He looked like an angel when he slept. It was such a contrast from his active self. I knew he was a devil in disguise, but seeing him asleep really made his "charade" look more like a false evil persona, rather than who he really was.

I sat down on the floor beside him. I sighed, thinking deeply.

I thought of my family. Were they watching the show for me? Did they miss me? I highly doubt my annoying younger brother gave a damn. My thoughts soon shifted to my father.

My dad was my whole world. He was the sweetest, funnest and most amazing man I knew. He was my true best friend, and nothing could change that.

But, looking at Alejandro reminded me so much of my father. He took charge the way he did, he cared the way he did, or at least he made it seem like he did. He looked nothing like my dad, and their personalities had the smallest similarities...but they were enough to make me see my dad every time I look at him.

I smiled at this thought.

Alejandro's dark hair was falling onto his face, and I couldn't help but chuckle as it did.

I was nervous, but I gently reached out to put it back in place, hoping to not wake him. From what I felt, his skin was heavenly smooth, and his hair was no different than silk.

I could feel a small amount of warmth hit my cheeks. He really was angelic when he was sleeping.

I turned away from him to daydream for the rest of the night.

By the time everyone woke up the next morning, I had not gotten a second of sleep.

I was sitting on the bench next to Alejandro, trying not to make last night apparent.

LeShawna was talking about how Harold had given her his num-yo to remember him.

Soon, Chris walked in. "And, how is everyone back here? That is what I would ask if I cared."

He walked by us.

"Coming through, make way."

"Where are you taking us next? Can it please be some place where there's no pinball of any kind?" LeShawna asked.

"Or pandas?" DJ seemed nervous.

"Or candy fishtails." Noah muttered.

Owen, who had been sleeping, shot awake hearing Noah's comment.

"Fishtails? Where?!"

"Our next destination is everything you just asked for."

I smiled hazily. So, we'd be going back to Tokyo? I can live with that.
