TDWT: Miranda's Way (Episode 5: Broadway Baby!)

Miranda's POV:

First Class, was actually so amazing.

Flight attendants obeying your every command, massages at free will, quality food, and the most comfortable chairs anyone could ask for.

Also, at night, we get earplugs to block out noise. I didn't take any when they were offered because I prefer sleeping with music in my ears, rather silence.

So, I woke up at around seven AM because I fell asleep at seven PM last night. I saw everyone else sleeping in the chairs or the other couch. They all had earplugs in.

So, I sat up, stretching, switching from the song that was playing in my ears all night.

I yawned, walking around. Everyone looked at peace. I bet they couldn't hear any of my footsteps.

So, I started singing some of "Try" by Colbie Calliat.

I looked at myself in the mirror, taking the lyrics to heart.

Did my team like me? Did I belong? Was I too shy? Should I be more open?

I sighed, singing to my reflection, trying to motivate myself, yet failing.

Alejandro's POV:

I woke up to the sound of someone singing.

My green eyes fluttered open to the sight of dark gold hair and tan cowboy boots.

I didn't even have to think twice on who it was.

Miranda was singing to her reflection, and from what I could see, she looked concerned.

You don't have to Try so hard

You don't have to

Bend until you break

You've just have to

Get up, get up, get up, get up.

You don't have to change a single thing.

She put a hand onto the mirror, looking at herself in the eye. It sounded like she was trying to motivate herself.

This was very interesting to watch. From what I had seen in the past, Miranda had a good amount of confidence. She and I seemed to have a lot in common.

But I never realized she was wearing a fake smile this whole time.

When she finished singing, she sat down on the floor, still looking at herself.

She put a hand on her head, making it seem like she was stressed out.

I couldn't help but pity her.

She soon gasped, looking at my reflection behind hers.

She turned. "Did I wake you up?"

I nodded. "Yes, quite pleasantly, I might add."

"I'm sorry. I thought those earplugs would block things out better."

"It's okay. What I'm more curious about is how you're feeling."

I stood up, going over to sit with her on the floor.

"From the looks of it, you need some confidence."

She shrugged. "Was it that obvious?"

I nodded. "I didn't know you were insecure."

She looked away. "Well, it's just that... I've never been that social, and whenever am I...I feel like I'm the odd one out. Like...I don't belong."
