TDWT: Miranda's Way (Episode 8: Am-AH-zon Race)

Miranda's POV:

Off to Peru! I was pretty excited to be heading to such a exotic place, believe it or not.

But, for now, I sat with my team in Economy Class with DJ and Lindsay. AKA, what was left of Team Victory.

They seemed pretty bummed that they had voted LeShawna off, but she should've seen it coming. Trusting someone like Alejandro was not a smart move.

It was a real shame. He was gorgeous, but he was a player. That's my life for you. I always find these cute guys, but they all turn out to be assholes.

Owen was freaking out in his sleep and Izzy was watching with concern.

Alejandro seemed to be pretty ticked off with it.

"Will you pipe down already?" he elbowed his side.

This made Owen lose even more control, causing Izzy to gasp. Owen flailed his arms around in panic, which made him punch Alejandro in the face.

I gasped, running over to help him.

Owen woke up, confused. "Woah...what a terrible dream."

I got down on my knees. I held Alejandro by his shoulders to help him up. He had a painful expression on his face as he covered his now swollen and bruised eye.

"Al, what happened?" Owen asked innocently.

He sat up, cringing. He soon flashed an evil grin.

"Nothing a little ice and revenge won't fix."

"Cool..." Owen seemed relieved, but his eyes widened as he flashed a clueless look.

"Wait...did you say revenge?"

"Of course not...off topic, do you have any...serious allergies?" Alejandro asked in a snakey tone.

"Uh...let's see now.." he pondered.

Alejandro smiled at me, nodding as a sign that I could let go of him.

"Gracias for the concern, chica. But there is no need to rush to my aid."

I did let go of him, but I stayed on my knees next to him. His eye look pretty beat up after that blow. I couldn't help but worry about it.

I nodded my head. I had this sort of motherly instinct. It's what caused me to help him.

He soon stood up, sitting down on the bench. I stood up as well, walking back to my bench.

Chef soon came in to put an eyepatch on his eye. He looked like a pirate to me. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself.

I watched as Owen tried to make things right with him, but he was failing miserably.

Chris soon announced that we had gotten to Peru. Specifically, the Amazon rainforest. The Amazons thought it was lucky sign and now they were cursed, apparently. I couldn't help but pity Gwen. She was merely trying to be positive.

"Welcome to Peru. Birthplace of the mighty Amazon River. This challenge is called 'The Am-AH-zon Race!' Teams must hike along an ancient Inca trail through the Peruvian jungle, all the way to Machu Picchu, a golden treasure awaits discovery. Find the treasure to win First Class passage to our next destination. Last team to arrive at Machu Picchu will have to send someone out the elimination door. And be warned, the jungle contains many vicious insects."

Cody raised his hand.

"Yes, Cody. The legal department made me well aware of your deathly allergies and insisted we supply an epipen. Wouldn't make sense to give it to the person who has the allergies. What if you need an injection while you're unconscious?"
