TDWT: Miranda's Way (Episode 17: Sweden Sour)

Miranda's POV:

Life sucks. Everything about it sucks.

Sure, First Class was heavenly, but it couldn't heal the bullet hole in my heart.

Owen and Duncan were eating cookies at the table. They offered me to sit with them, but I refused. I wanted to be left alone.

I sat in a chair, blasting my music in one earbud.

I gasped when Alejandro walked into the room to grab a couple cookies. He left as quickly as he came.

I heard what Duncan and Owen were talking about when he left.

"So, Al and Courtney, is that weird for you?" Owen asked.

"Whatever." Duncan muttered.

"Yeah, it's funny 'cause Noah always said Al was into Miranda big time!"

That caused tears to stream down my cheeks.

Duncan seemed confused. "Huh? What else did Noah say?"

He took a bite of his cookie. "Oh, just that Al's not who he seems, he's a slippery eel, and I should never trust him 'cause he's a male Heather."

Duncan looked shocked at Noah's remarks.

I wasn't too surprised. I knew Noah hated Ale.

"I really miss Noah." Owen sighed as he ate.

Duncan seemed to go along with it. "Yeah, me too. And the best way to show him what his friendship meant to us is to obey his dying words."

This caused Owen to almost choke and pick up Duncan.

"What?! When did he die?!"

"No no no! He's fine! I-I-I mean his parting, his parting words!"

This caused Owen to hug Duncan, sighing of relief. But Duncan pulled away.

"Dude! The point is, if Noah thought Alejandro was the enemy, you and I better stick together and do the same! It's what Noah would've wanted."

Owen seemed a bit confused. However, I wasn't sticking around to hear anymore. Instead, I sneaked down to the confessional to listen to everything going on in Economy Class.

I soon heard Courtney's voice. "Chocolate chip? My favorite!"

Then, I heard Alejandro's voice. "My mother always said, the way to a woman's heart is a long road, but shortcuts are made of chocolate!"

She chuckled, and I nearly broke into tears.

In the next few moments, the plane spun out of control and landed in Sweden.

Great, snow. Exactly what I needed. It was freezing and this time I didn't have anyone to snuggle with.

Chris came in wearing his puffy coat and a Swedish accent.

"Welcome to Sweden!"

"Where are those jackets you ordered for us in the Yukon?" Courtney whimpered.

"Um, I worked pretty hard on that accent. It would've been nice if somebody had commented."

"Dude! It's freezing out here!" Duncan retorted.

"Sweden! Hello? Ugh, great." Chris left to see if we had the coats.

"Okay. Let's hear it." Courtney bumped Duncan's elbow.

"Hear?"

"Your apology?"

"For?"

"For what?! For Gwen!" she yelled.
