Three months later
Kelly's P.O.V
I'm worried about Al. It's been two months now since she came home and she hasn't been the same. I mean: before she left all of her spare time was spilt between dancing, playing and writing her music and hanging out with us. They were the most important things to her but now all she ever does is work and when she does have time to herself that's all it is, too herself. She never goes out anymore unless it' to go to work or do the grocery shopping. And the worst part is I don't think she's even danced once step since she came back and I never hear her playing her guitar anymore.
I know why she's like that though. She misses her boyfriend! I know she loves him, she's never said it to be but I see it in her eyes when they Skype and in her voice when they talk on the phone. When she talks to him or any of the others from over there, she changes. It's as if the old Alexis is back but at the same time she's almost a completely different person to the girl I knew but then as soon as the call ends, she become a hollow shell of herself, almost as if the person on the other end of the phone is pulling her back but as soon as they hang up, it's as if they've let go and she's gone again.
Over the past few weeks I've been trying to do whatever I can to get her to go out but all of my efforts have failed miserably!
"Hey Al." I said one evening when we were eating dinner. "We thinking of going out tomorrow night. You wanna come?"
"Where are you going?" She asked, trying to make it sound as if she was interested.
"Not sure yet but we were thinking about trying out this new place by Kings. What do you think?"
"I think I'll leave it, I'm not really in the mood to go to the pub."
"Big surprise there." Lizzie said under her breath.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Al demanded.
"It means that you never go out all you ever do is stay in, locked in your room, sitting around moping over some guy that is on the other side of the world that you went out with from a week and think you're in love with!" Lizzie shouted.
"What has it got to do with you how I spend my time or how I feel about someone you don't even know! It is absolutely none of your business Lizzie and I would appreciate it if you stuck your nose out! Thank you for the invite Kelly but I would rather stay home and mope than go out and pretend to be something I'm not." She finished and walked towards the stairs.
"And what would that be exactly?" Lizzie asked, spite layering her words.
"Happy!" Was all Al answered, before walking up the stairs.
"Well done!" I said angrily to Lizzie, when I was sure Al was out of earshot and slapped her round the back of the head.
"Oow!" She complained "What was that for?"
"What did you have to go and do that for?" I asked, still annoyed.
"It needed to be said. You've said it yourself she never does anything anymore."
"Maybe but there was no need for you to attack her like that! She's not in a good place Liz and she needs use to help her not have a go at her."
"Okay, maybe you're right, I went about it the wrong way but we can't let this go on any longer. It's getting out of hand."
"What do think I was trying to do and then you went and spoiled it."
"I should go and apologise." I said and could see the guilt in her eyes.
"Not tonight. She needs time to cool down. Talk to her tomorrow."
"Yeah you're right. I just feel like an ass now."
