An hour and a half later, Ross and I were being called down to dinner. I put the guitar I was borrowing on the bed next to his. He'd let me use one of his many guitars because I hadn't thought to bring mine with me, thinking I wouldn't really be needing it. How wrong was I?

We walked out of the room and met Rocky and Ellington in the hallway. I knew who they were because I'd met them when they came into Ross' room, after hearing from Ryland that quote 'Ross' got a girl in our room.'

Ross and I were just starting to teach each other the songs when there was a knock at the door.

"Come in." Ross called and gave me an apologetic look. The door opened and in walked two boys. I knew one was Ross' brother and the other was their closest friend. I just didn't know which was which. I was sitting on Ryland's bed with the guitar balancing on my lap. I could feel the unease that always approached in my stomach when I met new people but it was easy to force down and ignore.

"We heard you had someone in here," Said the taller of the two boys "and clearly we heard right." He finished, noticing me.

"Who told you?" Ross asked, clearly annoyed.

"Ryland." The other boy said.

"He's probably annoyed at me for kicking him out. Oh well." He sighed "Anyway this is Alexis; she's the new dancer I told you about." Ross had told his family about me. This was either a really good or really bad sign.

"Hi." I said, lamely with a little wave.

"Hi." Said the closet one to me. "I'm Rocky, Ross' brother." Oh so this was the other brother. I looked at him properly and could see similar features to Ross' and I mentally kicked myself for not seeing it before.

The other boy stepped closer and said "I'm Ellington, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too." I smiled and then something occurred to me. "But your band is called R5. Doesn't that mean your names begin with an R?" I asked perplexed.

"Yeah, my last name is Ratliff but you can call me either. Most people call me Ellington though."

"Okay." I said still smiling.

"So what are you two doing?" Rocky asked planting himself beside me and pulling a face at Ross.

"Teaching each other songs." He replied, like it was no big deal, which to him it probably wasn't.

"What song are you teaching him?" Rocky asked, pointing. Ellington was now sitting next to Ross fiddling with a pair of drum sticks and tapping them on the bed frame.

"Emm... He heard me singing a song I wrote and he asked if I'd teach it to him and I said yes on the condition that he'd teach me one of yours in return." I realised too late that I hadn't really answered what he'd asked me, but he seemed not to mind.

"So, you write songs?" Ellington said from across the room.

"Yeah, but there not very good and before you ask no you can't hear one."

"Oow! Why not?" Rocky put on a very pouty face, which made me giggle a little.

"Because," I hesitated and looked at Ross, who smiled encouragingly and I continued "I don't like singing in front of people because I get stage fright." I finished in a rush. I could also feel the heat rising to my cheeks.

"Ahhh, she's blushing." Rocky said and playfully punched my arm. I smiled a little embarrassed.

"Err... guys would you mind, it's just we're got a lot to do." Ross said indicating he wanted them to leave.
