Chapter 5

At 7.40 and I was standing in the car park waiting for Ross to pick me up. I was excited about tonight but also I little nervous at the same. I stood there feeling a bit silly just standing there on my own. I decided to play on my phone while I waited for him.

After another 5 minutes I started to wonder if he was even coming at all. I was just considering calling Mike and asking him for a lift, when an electric blue convertible drove through the entrance to the motel and in the driver's seat sat Ross. In the back of the car sat Chris and Damien. I sighed I relief as they pulled up in front of me.

"Hey." said Ross as I opened the door.

"Hi." I replied smiling in spite of myself. I turned to the others in the back and said "Hi guys."

"Hi." they muttered back sounding as if they didn't quite appreciate a girl being in the boy's car.

The drive to the club was slightly awkward and no one really said anything until Ross turned on the radio and it was a song I knew. Without meaning to I started singing along with the track. I quickly stopped when I noticed all three of them staring at me. I felt my cheeks flush scarlet and said "What?"

"Nothing, nothing." Said Ross but I could tell he was lying but didn't know if I wanted to know the truth or not. I decided not to peruse the subject. I sat back in my seat and just listened to the music that was still playing as I watched the road and other cars flash by.

Twenty minutes later we were outside the club looking for the others. I searched the crowd surrounding the club and spotted a familiar face.

"Guys I've found them." I called to the boys that had walked off looking for the others but weren't that far away. I went over to Sapphire, Claire, Luke and Alice. They all greeted us and we greeted them back.

"Where are Jade and Cody?" I asked assuming they would be coming together even though I knew they weren't a couple.

"They're running late cause they're stuck in traffic." Said Claire in an annoyed voice. As we waited I complimented each of them on their outfits.

"I love you dress" said Mia "Where did you get it?" The dress I was wearing was a birthday present from Lizzie. When she bought it I said that I loved it but in truth it wasn't really my sort of thing. It was deep purple with glitter covering every inch of it. It was the type of dress that fit to your body and showed off everything. It had a very low neck which was one of the things that I hated most about it and the hem was so high I had to wear black tights underneath it. To be quite honest I had no idea why it had been packed, I'd had the dress almost a year and never worn it once.

The decided it was time to wear it tonight though because it reminded me of my friends and when we went out to clubs at home. I missed them so much and it had only been two days since I had last seen them and I'd only spoken to Danny yesterday.

Coming back to the convocation I said "Thanks it was a birthday present from a friend."

"Well it was a great present then." She laughed.

5 minutes later Cody and Jade walked up behind us and said "Sorry we're late, the traffic was mad!"

"Right then let's go" said Damien cheerily. As we walked in and showed our ID to the door man I felt someone put their arm around mine. I looked over to see Mia with her arm tightly around mine. She had a huge smile on her face, she looked over at me and said "You ready for your first American night out?" I smiled back at her exited for the night ahead of me.

"I can't wait" I replied.

When we got inside the first thing we did was find a table and sat down.
