Kankri Vantas sighed and opened his door locking in behind him and stepping out into the crisp morning air. He looked down after bumping into something slightly. Raising a brow he picked up the small light pink and white box inspecting it with his ever watchful eye. He grabbed the white tag and read it silently.
'To: Kankri
Love: your secret admirer'
He stepped forward then leaned down to dust off his front step before sitting on it. Carefully he opened the top of the quite cute box peering inside. What he saw made his black brow rise.
Inside of the cute box was a single candy apple.
He reached his hand into the box and pulled it out inspecting it. It didn't look to be poisonous or deadly in any way. So with a slight smile on his face, he stood up carrying the box under one arm and munching on the candy apple as he walked down the sidewalk. He took a few turns and walked past (y/n)'s house. Unknown to him he sighed a love stricken sigh.
He truly felt the deepest red for the girl and had almost constantly wondered if she felt the same. They had been 'friends', as she had put it, for years now. Ironically they had even gotten the same job though they worked in different positions. They both had lunch together where he would tell her about all of the triggering things that happened so far in the day and she would smile and laugh.
Kankri loved to see her smile
Her smile could light up a whole room even if it was pitch black.
None of the less he continued his walk to the park. It was his day off and he and (y/n) had decided to spend the day at the park with each other.
Not that is was a date or anything.
Well, to Kankri it was a date and he had dressed differently to what he usually wore on his leisure days. instead of his usual favorite bright red turtleneck sweater, he wore a rolled up red button up dress shirt that was left open, a black tank top under it. To complete his look he wore a pair of white-washed slightly baggy jeans, black traditional converse on his feet. As he arrived at the park he spotted (y/n).
She looked breath-taking, but then again she always did.
Her back was turned to him as she watched what was going on in front of her. Various couples and such roller skated, or had a picnic.
A sense of dread came over him.
What if she didn't love him the way he loved her?
He pushed the triggering thought from his head and continued forth. When he was right behind her he bent down and whispered in her ear.
"You should be tagged."
Due to the un-expectancy she jumped a bit and turned around to land her beautiful (eye color) eyes on him.
He loved her eyes too.
She giggled and smiled at him.
"Hello Kanny!"
He grinned back towards her and moved around sitting next to her on the bench. She was truthfully the only person he never constantly tagged or was triggered by.
"Hello (y/n)"
Personally he despised his voice. To him it wasn't as carefree as Cronus's or "adorably" imperfect like Mituna's. It wasn't even charming like Rufioh's.
It was just his.
It was one of the things he didn't like about himself.
"What cha got there Kanny?"
She pointed a slender finger towards the pink and white striped box, the candy apple long gone.
"Oh! Some person placed this upon my doorstep! I must say it was a bit triggering considering I almost fell over it. None of the less, I picked it up and opened it revealing a bright red candy apple from a "secret admirer."
(y/n)'s eyes widened excitedly.
"Well, do you know who it is?"
Kankri shook his head.
"Though it is quite triggering that I do not know, I think I have a slight hunch as to who it may be."
(y/n) raised a brow.
"Well, who do you think it is?"
Kankri took the moment to look off into the distance, his thumb and index finger resting on his chin tracing his jaw line.
"I believe it to be you."
(y/n)'s eyes went wide. How could he have guessed so fast?
"w-what? N-no it's not me!"
Kankri laughed and nodded.
"Your attempt to cover up your brave move is slightly triggering (y/n)."
He leaned over quickly and kissed (y/n), said woman returning the kiss after a few shocked seconds.
"How did you guess Kanny?"
The troll laughed and wrapped his arm around her.
"You smell like candy apples."

(y/n) walked alongside her co-worker, best friend, and flush-crush Kankri. For the weekend they were at the local fair. The fair would pass in a couple of days, so they were going to enjoy it while it was here considering it was only ever here three days out of the year. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a cute little bright red crab stuffed animal hanging on the shelf in one of the game stands. Kankri, who saw her sudden interest in the plush, strided over to the stand taking out his wallet and placing a five onto the counter-top. The man at the counter who was a bit overweight and grinning, his cheeks a jolly red, took the five and gave Kankri five darts. If Kankri could pop five balloons with his five darts, the crab would undoubtedly be his to give to his lovely flush crush. Said woman stood to the side watching the wide variety of colored balloons. Kankri threw the first dart.
POP!
One down, four to go. He picked up another dart and narrowed his eyes at the balloons, glaring at them. Their multitude of colors were triggering yes, but he would win this petty stupid game for (y/n). With much speed he threw the next dart.
POP!
Two down, three to go. Once again he picked up another dart. He weighed the dart in his hand before throwing it as well.
POP!
Three down, two to go. Kankri picked up another dart this time aiming for a balloon away from the three he had already thrown and popped.
FWIP!
He missed.
He actually missed. Now that crab that (y/n) had wanted was nowhere close to being hers. He had failed.
He had failed her.
Scowling Kankri grabbed the last dart and threw it at the wall of balloons.
POP POP!
His eyes widened at the sight before him.
Two balloons in one shot.
Next to him (y/n) giggled and hugged the crab that was gifted to her by the man.
"Oh my gosh, thank you Kanny!!!!" she turned towards him and hugged him tightly.
Kankri hesitated then hugged her back ignoring the triggers of the situation. He smiled down at her without her knowing.
Meanwhile the man at the game booth smiled at the two of them, pulling the darts out of the wall.
And tucking his needle back into his pocket.
