Karkat Vantas cursed as he threw open his front door, then slammed it shut. He had no particular reason for his anger, he was just angry. Besides that, he had quite the night last night. Staying up until two in the morning "pestering" Sollux on his trusty "laptop". Scowling he took a step forward

Only to trip over something making him fall flat on his face.

Letting out a loud string of curses he turned around to glare at whatever it was that tripped him. To his eminent surprise, there stood a small grey and white stripped box, a white tag dangling from it. The seemingly always angry troll moved forward, grabbing the box before
standing up and opening it. He opened the top, peeling the tape back before peering inside.

"What the fuck?"

Inside of his little mystery box looked to be an ornately wrapped bag of cherry sours. Karkat quickly placed the bag of sours back into the box, closing it. He then took the wonderful opportunity to read the tag dangling to the side. Carefully picking the tag up as to not completely destroy it, he read the small writing that adorned the tag.

'To: Karkat

From: Your Secret Admirer'

Karkat stared in astonishment at the box. This was literally something worth one of his romcoms. Karkat quickly looked around. Was he being pranked? If he was, he was going to rip whoever decided to prank him's head off. Anyway the troll smiled slightly and carried the box with two hands as he walked down the sidewalk. Cursing seemingly everything over the fact that he always had to walk, he turned a few corners and went down a few streets, purposely stopping in front of (y/n)'s house. The hateful troll smiled slightly and marched up her front steps, rapping his knuckles against the door.

"coming!"

A few seconds later the door swung open to reveal (y/n) her (hair color) hair down, allowing the delicate locks to cascade over her shoulders. She smiled brightly at the sight of her friend and leaned against the doorway.

"Why hello Karkat, what brings you to my doorstep this fine morning?"

Karkat didn't smile, though Gog knows he wanted to.

He really, really wanted to.

"No fucking reason, I was just fucking wondering if we were still fucking going out for fucking breakfast."

(y/n) nodded grabbing her purse and her keys behind the door before stepping out onto her small porch, locking the front door behind her. Going out to eat was something the both of them had done all of the time since high school. They had met at a restaurant in fact over an incident revolving an alive chicken, a fish and a porcelain plate. It was quite the invigorating tale. (y/n) took her spot next to Karkat as the two of them walked down the sidewalk to the closest restaurant, which happened to be one of their favorites. (y/n) raised a single (eyebrow color) brow when she saw that absolutely no customers were at the restaurant. "Karkat are they closed?" Karkat shook his head and strode forward, (y/n) in tow.

"I don't fucking know let's find out fuckass."

Unbeknownst to Karkat, (y/n) smiled at his choice of language. Yes it was slightly disrespectful but he meant no harm by it, it was something she was used to. Frankly if Karkat stopped cursing she wouldn't know what to do seeing as his constant cursing was one of the things about him she adored. Karkat pushed open the glass doors to the restaurant, hiding his smile. He knew why the restaurant was empty, (y/n) didn't but he did. A few weeks ago he had asked the owner for a favor. The owner, similar to himself, was a hopeless romantic, always watching the customers and declaring which ones would stay together or separate after time. Anyway once he told Karkat and Karkat informed him of his hopeless situation. The owner exclaimed happily that he would close the restaurant to everyone else for an hour, allowing Karkat and (y/n) to have their breakfast in utter silence. Now that Karkat looked around he suppressed a laugh. A few candles were lit, not really adding anything to the room considering it was still the morning. None of the less Karkat and (y/n) sat down at their usual table.
