Chapter 8
Italics are flashbacks/memories
------------
Camila sighs as she pulls herself back on her feet, flushing the previous contents of her stomach away and stumbling to the sink to wash her mouth. She takes a brief look in the mirror, but looks away again when she sees how horrible she looks.
''Why the hell..'' she mutters to herself, not understanding where her nausea comes from. She didn't drink last night, she wasn't sick or anything. She shakes her head, and wobbly walks back to her bed to let herself fall down on top of it.
She closes her eyes in exhaustion, pouting that Lauren has already left for work, so that leaves exactly nobody to take care of her. She ponders the idea to call Lauren and beg her to come home for a few moments, but then decides against it.
She and Lauren are finally okay again after their fight. Camila has noticed Lauren keeping her words in when they have arguments, probably scared that Camila would walk out on her again. But Camila promised her she wouldn't do that again. They both apologized, and everything is slowly going back to normal.
Camila has come to the conclusion that she really, really loves Lauren. She doesn't see herself end up with anybody else. Nobody could ever love her like Lauren did. And Camila knew she had to appreciate that.
Which makes it even harder to accept what she's done.
She hasn't told Lauren about that yet. And quite honestly, she wasn't planning on it. She knows she made a mistake that night. Firstly to walk away when she and Lauren were fighting instead of working things out together. And secondly... well.. going to that bar in the city and get herself so drunk that she couldn't tell left from right anymore.
And she regrets it all. How could she not regret cheating on Lauren?
But she's not going to tell her that. She loves her girlfriend too much to hurt her like that. This is something that you simply take to the grave. They are back together, Lauren will never have to find out about Camila's horrible mistake, and they can move on together.
Camila sighs and closes her eyes, her stomach twitching in a painful way, and she knows she'll probably have to jump to her feet to run to back to the toilet and throw up again in a few moments. She groans. If she only knew why she felt this way, maybe she could do something about it.
She lays on her bed for a few more moments, until a terrifying realization dawns on her. Her eyes snap open wide, her heart stops beating for a few painful moments and her stomach turns again. Could she be....
Camila reaches out to the nearest trash can, knowing she won't make it to the toilet, and once again empties her stomach violently. Then she comes back up, falls on her back on the bed and stares at the ceiling for at least fifteen minutes.
Could that really be true? Is this really happening to her? She looks down, puts her hand on her stomach and shakes her head. Then she rushes to her feet, grabbing the dresser in support because of the sudden dizziness, and rushes out the door the moment she finds her balance again.
Later that day.
''Camz! I'm home!'' Lauren yells while she closes the front door behind her. She throws her keys into the bowl and walks into the living room, but finding it empty.
''Camz?'' she calls out again, moving to the kitchen to see if her girlfriend was there. But she isn't, and there isn't a sign of her in the back yard either.
