CHAPTER 11: Gaia's Revenge.

PERCY'S POV:
There she was! Gaia!
I had always known we'd have to face her, but never too soon.

The challenge looked impossible. They were simply too many.

However, we had to fight. They were just 10 minutes from the camp now.

I gathered all the campers. I knew it would be me in the lead. I had to guide everyone for the war.

"We must fight, fight for our camp, fight for the Olympus. I know we are heavily outnumbered." I said.

"But we must fight..... Fight for Olympus, for everyone's sake, for those we love....so who comes with me" I asked.

The crowd roared. Everyone raised their weapons. They were ready to fight by my side.

The enemies were close now.

We prepared to attack attacked. We were about eighty. The enemies were close to 400. That meant about 5 for each.

The odds were great. But, we had to prevail.... I thought of my mom, and annabeth, and future we could have together.

Then I raised my own sword. I was ready to fight by my last breath.

The battle began. There were war cries everywhere.

We all took different directions, and it became difficult to keep track of the battle.

In the distance, I saw Leo and Jason fight side by side, battling a pack of hellhounds.

Then I saw Nico, surrounded by his army of skeleton warriors, pressing on some empousai.

I myself was lashing riptide, keeping enemies at bay. I sliced the head of a harpy off its shoulders.

So far, we seemed to be doing good.

I saw some enemy cyclops struggling with some twines. I smiled. Surely the work of castor.

I dodged just in time, from the sword of a centaur. I dodged and stabbed.

Then it all started. The enemies started gaining on us more of the monsters joined.

They seemed to never end.

It was then I saw a injured centaur, on the floor, an arrow jutting in his armour.

Chiron.

I quickly went there, and helped him to a quiet spot.

"Go back, Percy.....your comrades need you. Don't worry about me. I won't die here" Chiron smiled.

So he knew I was Percy, how I don't know. So I reluctantly ran back to the battle.

I was shocked. The condition had worsened. Every where, I could see injured demigods. The condition seemed hopeless.

Just when I had lost all hope of winning, there came a fearful war cry from another direction.

Something far more strong than this army had joined.

"Need some help, boy?" Damasen asked.
By his side, stood Bob, or Iapetus, or the Titan of. West, with a fully grown sabre tooth tiger.

Small Bob? Yup. I smiled at them, and nodded. I had befriended them in the Tartarus. They were perhaps the greatest worriors I had ever met.

They attacked. The unleashed a new frenzy. They killed dozens of enemies in one go.

The campers got a new hope. Within moments, all of the army was dead, or had fled.

All except Gaia. There she stood, with a pale face and a grunt on her face.

Clearly, she had not got hold of her full power, but was soon going to.

"Quick Percy....we will have to kill her now" damasen said. I'll pick her... Meanwhile, you guys attack." He said to me, Jason, Leo and Nico.

He quickly ran, and with bob's help, lifted her off the ground.

Yep...lifted Mother Earth off the ground. As I said, the were one of the most powerful creatures.

We began to attack. We stabbed, and cut, with are weapons. Her strength the was draining. She bellowed in pain.

"I would die, but my sister shall take my revenge from you all. To you, I'd kill you myself."

With her last bit of energy, she shot a ball of darkness in my direction.

How wrong I had been. The ball had never been directed at me. It passed straight by me, hitting Leo, making him disentigrate on the spot.

It had been Leo who had killed her. She had taken her revenge....

LEO'S POV: 
Was this how it felt to be dead....this was not bad.

Hey wait. Where was I, Elysium? This place was beautiful.

Noooo....this was not Elysium. Gaia's Magic had failed. I was not dead!
