CHAPTER 22: Midnight Happenings.

LEO'S POV:

I grabbed an iron rod from a barrel behind me. At this time of night, with a sword, he could be up to nothing good.

Just when I was about to come out, Ethan started moving... Towards the cabins!

There was something strange in the way he walked. He seemed to be in no hurry...surprising.

I quietly followed. Just when we were about 50 paces from the cabins, I came out. He had his back to me.

Then I noticed he had his hood down. "Ahem, ahem" I faked I cough. He paused.

He slowly started turning. The look on his face took me by surprise. He was smiling, and wait... He Had completely white eyebrows!

He seemed to be in the same transformation like Henry. Nyx was giving him powers!

I attacked with my rod, charging straight at his head. Just when I was inches away, he sidestepped, just in time.

I was surprised. I stumbled, trying to keep my balance. He turned and attacked.

Again, I was surprised by his speed and agility. My chest missed the point of his sword by a hairs breadth.

He charged back within a second. This time, I wasn't as lucky as the last time.

The flat of his sword hit me hard. I fell with a thud. He had easily defeated me.

I struggled to get up, but he was on me in an instant. His hands got a firm grip of me, pinning me to the ground.

I tried to shout for help, but his hands clasped my mouth. Just when I thought he had got better of me, a plan occurred.

I willed for fire....fire, my element. My hands burst into flames. Ethan let go. I knew this wasn't gonna keep him forever.

I thrust my hands in by toolbelt, grabbing whatever came out.

A hammer! Thank gods. It would do!

"So, you think you'll fight me with this Valdez?"Ethan mused.

I didn't bother to answer him. I threw the hammer. It hit the cabin window hard.

CLASH!

Ethan was surprised. I had managed to surprise him. I had upset his plan.

It shattered with a sound, loud enough to wake the dead. Yes! Others must have heard it. I'd get help!

Ethan glared with death in his eyes, then started coming towards me...

PERCY'S POV:

I woke with a start, on the noise. My heart was thumping hard in my chest. I had just had a nightmare.

Had I imagined the sound too? One look at the room window, and I was proved wrong. It was smashed to pieces.

So this was what made noise. Something was wrong...definitely wrong.

Without another thought, I grabbed riptide and uncapped it. It turned to a sword.

Then I immediately ran out to see what was wrong. I had barely been running 30 paces, when I saw it.

Leo was on the floor, and an angry Ethan over him, punching his face. Something about Ethan startled me too.

He was beating Leo. Also, his every seemed a bit weird. And his movements..

But I had no time for this. I jumped between them, trying to stop the struggle. Soon, Nico came from his cabin too.

It took about 10 minutes to stop Ethan, when I accidentally drove riptide inside him.

I withdrew. I expected to see blood, but he disintegrated! Yup, disintegrated.

Nico seemed equally shocked. "Um, guys...can anyone explain this?" Nico asked, baffled.

"Yes...he had Nyx'x powers..no wonder he fought like a bull! He had been hiding in the engine room, and had come out to attack. " Leo said.

"Wow...and we skipped it while trying to find him!" I said, surprised.

"But all'a good for now. He's...um.... disintegrated .." Nico said, yawning.

"Umm, yeah.., let's leave the talking till morning" I said, I said, and found myself yawning too...

Sorry for the late update guys....I feel like I have updated after an year! But I was down with fever. I'll try updating regularly from tomorrow again!
