CHAPTER 16: All about Henry

JASON'S POV:

I stared at Henry in horror. More horrified I was, to see the woman next to him.

Nyx was talking to him. She had a pale and, sort of cruel face, high cheekbones, and menacing eyes, that seemed to see right through you.

She had a slightly upturned nose, and sharp fangs protruded from her mouth.

I look at others. The had the same deviated look on their faces at me.

Not only this, Nyx radiated strength. I could fell it from here as well.

What we faced was extremely powerful. She was older than the gods, even Gaia herself.

Then I saw Percy. He too looked a bit shaken, but had his senses.

"We attack Henry when Nyx goes. I can't let him pass on any more information to the enemies." He suddenly said.

We merely nodded. I had not thought of it.... He must have passed on every bit of information we had.

We had been in the bushes for about 10 minutes, when Nyx rose, and put her forefinger on Henry's forhead.

Then, suddenly, he started rising, and ended up half a fort above the ground. His body started glowing in faint red.

We stared at them, petrified. Some really strong powers were being used. Judging from their expressions, others could feel it too.

Then, finally, Nyx started to fade. In a few minutes, Henry stood there alone.

Percy gestured to us. We five jumped from the bushes to attack.

Henry had his back to us. He turned. The sight shocked us to the core. He was no more Henry.

His eyeballs were completely...white. His face turned into a smile. We saw the sharp fangs he had grown.

He started growing. The humanly features fading...

In a few minutes, what we confronted was... A hellhound. And about twice the size of a regular one.

NICO'S POV:

Stunned silence.

"Um....so you're a ..what, hellhound?" Percy was the first to recover.

"The hellhound, mortal" Henry corrected, and gave a blood curling growl.

I suddenly remembered something. It came like a flash. Hellhound....shape changing....good with sword...twice the size.....Nyx's son....OH NO..

Why hadn't I thought it before. He really was THE hellhound.

The first and the strongest hellhound, nyx's first son, commander of her army....and invincible.

"Percy, he is the first hellhound, nyx's commander" I shouted desperately.

Percy's face tightened.

"Yeah.... The strongest, and invincible" he smiled evilly.

"I did not have my full strength when I first came. Mother weekly came to see me and give me a chunk of my power"

"Tonight I have replenished all of it, and you shall all die from my hands" he gave an evil smile again.

We charged. All five of us. Swords drawn.

He hadn't been lying.

He didn't move until last moment, and then attacked. He spun, and dodged, and attacked with his claws.

Although it was one against five, he was strong. Really strong.

What chance did we have against an immortal monster?

Our swords merely got deflected by his skin. I slashed with my Stygian iron blade, but to no avail.

It was then I noticed, he had no SKIN..they were scaled. Whenever we made a swing, our swords slipped.

This went on for minutes, then the hellhound started gaining on us. He swung his claws at Luke. They hit him in the chest.

Poor guy went flying, and landed a few meters away, unconscious.

Then he flung at Jason. He was not so lucky. He went flying. His head hit a tree. Blood trickled, and he too became unconscious.

We desperately slashed out at him, me Leo and Percy. Again, he did not even get a bruise.

Just when we thought all was over, an arrow swished past us.

It hit the hellhound right between the eyes, jutting from the other end.

He looked at his attacker in disbelief, "she'll take my.....ah,.. revenge, sooner tha-n you thin-" he began, but couldn't say any more. And, with a cry of agony, disintegrated.

We turned back to see who had hit him with such perfection.

"You guys were lucky to survive for this long. He could only be defeated this way.... His being here was not good.....not good at all.." Chiron said gravely.

We stared in disbelief. It was Chiron, complete with an armour, A bow slung over his shoulder.

AUTHORS NOTE:

End of the chapter. Sorry I couldn't update for quite some time.

What would happen now..with Henry turning up as the hellhound. Are there any other traitors too?... Would Nyx attack sooner than the heroes expect...
