We were all standing around the table looking at the copies of the Dread Doctors.

"My mom's book club usually has more wine." Lydia commented.

"Well, they also probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations." Stiles pointed out.

"That's why Malia's here." Scott said looking over at Malia.

"So none of us go running into traffic?" Kira asked.

"Or worse." I shared worried look with Stiles.

"Like what happened to Judy." Malia said and we all looked at her confused.

"Chapter 14." She explained.

"Maybe I should have my mother read it." Lydia started. "She might remember a girl with a tail leaping off the ceiling and attacking everyone."

"What if it doesn't work?" I questioned.

"It has to." Lydia looked at me.

"How do you know that?"

"I think I saw them during my surgery. When I look at the cover of the book. It's almost like.." She looked at us trying to find the right words.

"A memory trying to surface." Theo said.

"Yeah."

"Isn't that what Valack wanted when he wrote it?" Kira asked.

"If they did something to me, I want to know what it is." Lydia said.

I grabbed a copy of the Dread Doctors and sat down on the sofa. This is going to be a long night.

"Anyone feel anything yet?" Scott asked after a long silence filled with the sound of pages flipping and our sighs.

"Tired." Kira said.

"Hungry." Lydia added.

"Lack of caffeine." I sighed as I stood up and went to refill my cup.

"I think he meant the book." Theo spoke.

I smiled at Malia as I entered the kitchen.

"What did you do to your shoulder?" Malia suddenly asked Stiles and I could feel my heart stop for a moment. Stiles looked at me.

"What are you talking about?" Stiles played dumb but I could see Malia wasn't buying it.

"I can smell the blood. What happened?" Damn it, this people with supernaturally high senses.

"Jeep died on me again. I went to check the engine, the hood fell on it." Stiles lied. "Wait, so, how much... How much do you remember anyway?" He changed the subject. "With the accident, did it play like a movie in your head or was it like being completely in it again?"

"In it."

"Was it just the crash? Nothing else?" Stiles asked.

"Nothing." She answered and now was her turn to look at me. She didn't say anything about the Desert Wolf. I sighed and walked back to the living room and took my spot on the sofa next to Theo. I had a feeling that I am aware of most of the things that everyone else wants to keep as a secret.
