"Lydia! Lydia, are you okay?" I gently shook her. Her eyelids moved and then she opened her eyes. I took her by the hand. She was shaking.
"Help me with her." I said and with Theo's help we lifted up Lydia and sat her down on the chair.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You remembered something, didn't you?" Scott asked.
"Not about the Dread Doctors. Nothing about them or the surgery."
"What was it then?"
"My grandmother. At Eichen house."
"Are you okay?" I asked concerned.
"Yeah, fine." She nodded but she was still shaking.
Lydia's mom entered the room. "Lydia, Lydia? Oh my God, what happened? Are you okay?" "Mom, I'm fine." Lydia assured her. "It was nothing."
"Was it a blackout? Did you faint?"
"Yeah. I fainted." Lydia nodded.
"What else is there to look for?" Mason asked.
I was sitting next to him and Brett on the tribune, watching Liam's practice.
"Heightened strength, smell, hearing, speed..." Brett started listing all the things.
"Glowing eyes, eyes that reflect the light, able to see in the dark. Um.. lizard tails." I sighed.
"Or visible scorpion stingers protruding out of limbs." Mason said and I smiled. I looked at Liam who just missed the goal. I frowned. He was looking at a girl that was practicing soccer and she was good. She was scoring goals and every time she scored she looked at Liam with triumphal smile on her face. There was something going on because Liam started doing great all of the sudden and he didn't miss the goal once. It was like they had a little competition.
"What's up with those too?" Brett asked.
"She like him." I said and smiled.
"I doubt that." Mason said as he took out his phone and started searching for something. "Sixth grade. That was not the best year for Liam's anger management issues. There was a... This fight in the hallways. Liam and this other guy. Hayden sort of accidentally walked into it. And this is her yearbook photo." He showed us photo of Hayden with bruises on her face.
"I would kill him."
"Well..." Mason said and showed me the Liam's yearbook photo. I started laughing. Hayden obviously punched him in the face too.
"I like her." I laughed again.
"Does anyone here have asthma?" We heard someone yelling and I immediately stood up.
"Anyone got an inhaler?" The boy asked again and I exchanged looks with Liam.
"Get the inhaler!" I screamed at Liam and ran to the school. It wasn't hard to find Scott because there was a crowd right in front of the classroom.
"Excuse me." I said as I made my way through the bodies.
"Scott." I kneeled next to him.
"Do you know where his inhaler is?" Mrs. Finch asked me.
"I've got it... I've got the inhaler!" Liam ran into the classroom and kneeled next to me.
"Give it to me." I said and grabbed the inhaler out of his hands. I waited till he exhaled completely and then I put the inhaler in his mouth and I squeezed it as he inhaled. Scott's eyes grew wider and he grabbed my hand. When he started breathing normally again he looked at me. "Thanks."
